Eldah and Sistah Guhnee:

I loved seeing all the photos and reading about your mission.  You are doing a fantastic job obviously and the people adore you which is totally understandable.

Life is good her in the US of A.  Very warm weather predicted starting tomorrow – in the 100’s.  102 and 103.  It’s 110 to 112 in St. George  ugh!

Did you get to watch the WW Leadership last Sunday conducted by Elder Holland?  I thought it was fantastic.  Wow – missionary work is sure going to change with the internet, facebook, IPads etc.  That will be a headache for mission presidents to monitor!!!

I had a wonderful quick trip home to Enzee for mum’s 91st birthday.  She is amazing and adored by her huge family.  She has had two spells in the hospital this year though which was worrying for us, but she seems to be doing better.

I hope your family is doing well.

Tons of love

Jan

Hi Jan,

Great to hear from you.  We're thrilled you were able to be with your Mum.  She probably will live until she's 100+.

I watched the first 40 minutes of the broadcast the other night when I couldn't sleep.  Our Branch leadership is viewing it this Sunday at 5pm.  The broadcast live was in the middle of the night here.  You know how that goes.  Also this Sunday Allyson and I are the sacrament meeting speakers.  Our first time with an assigned Loooooonggggg talk.  We've written them in English and then translated them to German and are trying hard to not read the whole thing, and for Allyson to read it correctly.  This language is going to kill us.  I'm still not picking up a lot.  It just isn't like when I was 19.

Our mission is bursting with new missionaries.  This week the mission president asked us to find an apartment for 2 new sisters to be added to Singen.  So we'll have 6 missionaries in our branch.  We're all very excited.  Our mission will have gone from about 150 missionaries when we arrived to 270 by the end of this year.  It's a real challenge for the president to find enough good trainers.  We have an elder in our district who was only out 3 months and was made a trainer of a brand new one.  Fortunately he's doing a bang-up job and is an unusual elder.  Great challenges.

Give everyone our best.

Warm regards,
Elde Goournieg

Thanks for the wonderful update and photos, you impressive, hyper-active, spiritual giant Gurneys!
We're pleased you're having a such a great time building the Kingdom in the Old Country. We're becoming short timers with only to go. How long before you'll be coming home?

All our love (and mosquito repellent) from Nauvoo,

Dorothea and Spence
