Job Description: Gameloft is seeking a talented and motivated User Research Manager to join our dynamic team. As the User Research Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that player feedback and insights drive the development of our games. You will lead a team of skilled researchers and work closely with cross-functional teams across all Gameloft Studios and games to inform decision-making and contribute to the overall success of our game projects.
Responsibilities
Oversee a team of user researchers to plan, execute, and analyze user research activities throughout the game development lifecycle.
Collaborate with game designers, product managers, and developers across all Gameloft Studios to identify research goals and objectives that align with project milestones.
Design and implement a variety of user research methodologies, including usability testing, longitudinal studies, focus groups, surveys, and player feedback sessions, both in-lab and remotely, moderated and non-moderated.
Through qualitative and quantitative data, develop a deep understanding of player preferences, behaviors, and motivations. Generate actionable insights to inform game design, development strategies, and guide design iterations.
Create and maintain a research roadmap that outlines the timing and scope of research activities for all projects.
Advise when research should be carried out 100% internally or the collaboration of external vendors. Manage external vendors, control the quality of deliverables, the timelines, as well as the budget spent.
Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner, influencing decisions and fostering a user-centric mindset.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in user research and gaming to continuously enhance the team's capabilities.
Foster a collaborative and innovative research culture within the organization, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional cooperation.
Qualifications
Proven experience (5+ years) in conducting user research within the video game industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
At minimum, a Master's degree in Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of user research methodologies and user-centered design principles.
Proficiency in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, translating insights into actionable recommendations
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in an Agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with gaming platforms, trends, and player preferences across various genres.
Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to mentor and guide junior researchers.
Proficiency in both English and French languages.
Knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis software is a plus.
Experience in both F2P Mobile games and AAA PC/console games is preferred.
Organized, rigorous, autonomous, and self-driven work ethic.
