Hi,

Would like to know what is the per unit electricity rate for DG Backup in your respective condos.

In our condo Vipul Greens, builder is charging Rs 11.50 - Rs 11.70 / Unit.

Just want to understand if above rate are in line and in-sync with residential complex in gurgaon.

Regards
Sandeep

Dear All
The power back up cost is based mainly on % of Rated Load in running &
condition (No. Of hrs run & type of maintenance) of DG. This is also
based on installation of DG's Capacities. In case the DG by compulsion
one had to run at less than 50% of rated load than consumption as well
maintenance cost has to go high.
In the undersigned opinion the DG cost vaiable only has to be Rs. 11.5
per unit or more as explained above. M/s Vipul is maintaining always
arround Rs. 11.5 per unit: I shall say selection of DG sets are O.K.
In our case in winters we have running load less than 50% of rated
load.

Dear Respective Member
Our RWA is managing the issue. We are charging @ Rs. 12 per unit as av. for the year @ Rs. 12.00 and the same being done even before i.e. 10-12-2011 (on the day of take over). In winters the load is less than 50% of minimum capacity of DG. The breakeven is at 3.272 unit per liter with a  The charges of Common area is also taken along with monthly bill of Electricity. In case U require more information pl. write to undersigned on bkagga...@gmail.com.

What Mr.Aggarwal wrote is perfectly correct and DG cost is indeed dependent
upon management of load conditions. I enclose herewith a file which I had
compiled late last year and had shared on this Platform 4 times. Some
figures might have changed since then, but broadly it still gives a good
idea. We top the list !!!

Vikas

Dear All,

I am a resident of BPTP Freedom Park Life, Sector 57. I was impressed with the document prepared by Mr. Vikas Gupta that gives a fair idea of the DG and Maint rates of some of the residential apartments in Gurgaon.

We are being charged 12.16 for power back-up. I am wondering if this is a fair cost as per the market conditions and diesel prices. Also, the price list is of October 2011, would anyone be kind enough to share any revision in prices till date.

Thank you

Regards
Samita Nanda

Hi Samita,

We, in Vatika City, are at Rs.12.98 for 2 years - highest in Gurgaon. In a DG, major component is fuel cost. AMC and spares / consumables are a negligible cost. The cost of fuel in sizes of 750 KVA and above comes approximately to Rs.12 / KWH. Community places like our Societies in Gurgaon have these ratings of DGs only.

Vikas

Dear Friends

The calculations should start from the purchase of D.G set . The money spent on the purchase for D.G set in any township belongs to the buyer of the property . It means we are the owner of such D.G sets .When builder do purchase of D.G set from market gets spares and warranty for two years with free maintenance but we have to make payments for maintenance and spares . If we change D.G set after every 5 yrs get huge discounts and same services from manufacturer. The running cost falls down drastically by 25%. Rest You all can get all calculation from Sh. B.K Aggarwal.

Dear Friends

There is no guideline adopted till date . Since most of the consumers are not taking this seriously that is why this is happening . After 10 Yrs when Gurgaon would be having approx 70% retired people that time these issues would take place .

I guess there is also various factors why residents dont pay up to RWAs in time and hence smaller low rise societies still dare to take Maintenance handover from builders including DG like Today's or G block South city-2 with own set up, while high rises RWAs have rarely dared to ask for Maintenance handover from builder due to Maint. complexity and residents' default behaviour.

Obviously builders run maint agency not for social service on cost basis but to earn profits. Better affordability also leads to complacence in residents/RWAs.

Gentlemen

The best way is to sum up the total grid power charges and diesel cost for the month and divide it by the billable units for the month to arrive at the blended rate per unit for the month.

This removes all complexities and makes it more transparent and simple.

Warm Regards
