The Alternative (http://beta.thealternative.in/) is an online new media platform on Sustainable living. It is based on the fundamental belief that we, as mainstream audience, should engage in conversations around social impact and sustainability. The Alternative strives to achieve that by highlighting issues, solutions, and tangible choices we can make to positively impact the world around us. We focus on topics that we are passionate about - such as Travel, Arts & Culture, Environment to name a few - and use that as a lens to talk about social good. 

Over the years, our online editorial has focused on raising awareness about key issues and showcasing individuals, organizations and community groups that are making a difference. We want to take this conversation further through face-to-face interactions and events where get our audience to connect and collaborate with like minded peers. Across all our focus areas, The Alternative is keen to design and execute its own events, partner with like-minded stakeholders to co-execute events and make our presence felt in a a wide range of on the ground activities (from conferences to workshops to marathons) throughout the year. 

We need someone who can take end to end responsibility for all activities around Events. The person will work very closely with the Sattva Media leadership team to design and execute our events, collaborate with a variety of organizations including social enterprises, NGOs, CSRs, colleges, collectives and relevant corporates in realizing events and event partnerships. She / he will be the ear to the floor representing The Alternative in external events to increase awareness about our activities and build strategic partnerships. 

We are looking for someone combining creativity with strong execution skills, thrives in people engagement and has proven experience in handling design and execution responsibilities around events and partnerships. We want someone who is passionate about social impact and believes in engaging the mainstream in conversations around social impact - and will be able to talk about it in an informed manner with a wide range of stakeholders. We prefer someone who has had prior experience in managing high touch relationships with corporates, foundations and social impact organizations.
