VICTORY is the IMAGE OF GOD in Ch 48

KORAN SURAH 48: VICTORY
the FULL-OF-HOPE Saint Mohammed.
Hector and Achilles

The writing of this
material in connection
with what is, at this
time, a Living Method, for
the purpose— as always—
of seeking answers to the
questions of supernatural
phenomena, the law of
cause and effect along
the involutionary line

of ordinary life of itself
and how this lower order
law can be reversed at key

moments of danger for
the purpose of
developing the
harmless state
of Objective
Clairvoyance
as a true
measure
of Higher
Body creation
and maintenance,
or maintenance
of the Ship of
Light, and which

happens to be the

sense and aim of

existence, and to

do this in relation

to surroundings,

circumstances, facts, etc.

in the midst of

an abnormal world

oriented to what is

called "politics".

"Of the desires expressed
the one which is most right
is the desire to be master of
oneself, because without this
nothing else is possible. And
in comparison with this desire
all other desires are simply
childish dreams, desires of
which a man could make no
use even if they were
granted to him.

"It was said, for instance,
that somebody wanted to help
people. In order to be able to
help people one must first learn
to help oneself. A great number
of people become absorbed in
thoughts and feelings about
helping others simply out of
laziness. They are too lazy
to work on themselves; and
at the same time it is very
pleasant for them to think
that they are able to help
others. This is being false
and insincere with oneself.
If a man looks at himself
as he really is, he will
not begin to think of
helping other people:
he will be ashamed to
think about it. Love of
mankind, altruism, are all
very fine words, but they
only have meaning when a
man is able, of his own
choice and of his own
decision, to love or
not to love, to be an
altruist or an egoist.
Then his choice has a
value. But if there is
no choice at all, if he
cannot be different, if
he is only such as chance
has made or is making him,
an altruist today, an egoist
tomorrow, again an altruist
the day after tomorrow,
then there is no value
in it whatever. In order
to help others one must
first learn to be an
egoist, a conscious
egoist. Only a
conscious egoist
can help people.
Such as we are we
can do nothing. A
man decides to be an
egoist but gives away
his last shirt instead.
He decides to give away
his last shirt, but instead,
he strips of his last shirt
the man to whom he meant to
give his own. Or he decides
to give away his own shirt
but gives away somebody
else's and is offended
if somebody refuses to
give him his shirt so
that he may give it to
another. This is what
happens most often.
And so it goes on.

"And above all, in order
to do what is difficult,
one must first learn to
do what is easy. One
cannot begin with the
most difficult."
--Gurdjieff
--ch 6, ISO

"I have chosen this particular
lecture because when I first
began to spread the ideas I
wished to introduce into
the life of people, it
was specially composed
here in Europe to serve
as the introduction or,
as it were, 'threshold'
to the complete series of
lectures, the totality of
which alone can make clear
in a form accessible to
everybody the necessity,
and even the unavoidable
obligation, of putting
into practice the
immutable truths I
have elucidated and
established in half
a century of active
work, day and night,
and also to prove that
it is actually possible
to employ these truths for
the welfare of people. And
furthermore I chose this
lecture because,
happening to be
present at the
large gathering
where it was last
read publicly, I made
an addition to it which
fully corresponds to the
hidden thought introduced
by Mr Beelzebub himself
into his so to say
'concluding chord,'
an addition which,
by illuminating once
more that supreme objective
truth, will in my opinion
enable the reader to
perceive and
assimilate it
as befits a
being who
claims to
be made in
the 'IMAGE
OF GOD.'"
--ch 48, from the author

"How can we think

of Gurdjieff?

"As a musician?

"Choreographer?

"Writer?

"Physician?

"Psychiatrist?

"Master Cook?

'THE ONLY ABSOLUTELY
FREE MAN, IF SUCH A
MAN COULD BE CONCEIVED
OF, WOULD BE THE MAN IN
WHOM NOT A SINGLE GESTURE
SMACKED OF IMITATION.'

"Let me begin by describing
his utter contempt for social
conventions. He would have
seated a Nobel prize winner
NEXT TO A ROADSWEEPER, a
'lady' next to A PROSTITUTE.

"This being so, it is all
the more surprising that he
could deal so harshly with
one particular category of
people who, after all, earn
their living like anybody
else, namely, JOURNALISTS.
He always kept them at
bay and would not allow
them to cross his door.

"One day I was present when
the following scene took
place. Two young men had
had the nerve to force
their way in and,
presenting their
press cards,
declared that
they were on the
editorial staff of
a well-known newspaper.
Someone went to announce
them to Mr Gurdjieff but,
before they had even had
time to take three steps
into the hall, he appeared
in person and chased them
out as if they were vermin.

"That he braved the power
of the press on every
occasion is one thing.
But on top of that,
when his pupils went
to the trouble of bringing
a world-famous personality
to him, expecting such an
encounter to result in some
kind of mutual recognition at
least, more often than not things
would turn out contrary to their
wishes. After a fairly good start
the important holder of the Legion
d'Honneur would suddenly feel
himself in a situation which
no longer tallied with his
idea of himself. He would
get out of his depth and
go to pieces."

--Who are you Monsieur Gurdjieff?

"For my mother the goddess,
silver-footed Thetis, tells
me that twofold fates are
bearing me toward the doom
of death: if I abide here
and play my part in the
siege of Troy, then lost
is my home-return, but
my renown shall be
imperishable; but if
I return home to my
dear native land, lost
then is my glorious renown,
yet shall my life long endure,
neither shall the doom of death
come soon upon me."
--Achilles to Odysseus.
--Homer, Iliad 9.410

"It was an April morning
when they told us we should
go
As I turn to you,
you smiled at me
How could we say no?

With all the fun to
have, to live the dreams
we always had Oh, the songs
to sing, when we at last return
again

Sending off a glancing kiss,
to those who claim they know
Below the streets that steam
and hiss,
The devil's in his hole

Oh to sail away, To sandy
lands and other days
Oh to touch the dream,
Hides inside and never
seen.

Into the sun the south
the north, at last the
birds have flown
The shackles of
commitment fell,
In pieces on the
ground

Oh to ride the wind,
To tread the air above
the din
Oh to laugh aloud,
Dancing as we fought
the crowd

To seek the man
whose pointing hand,
The giant step unfolds
With guidance from the
curving path, That
churns up into stone

If one bell should ring,
in celebration for a king
So fast the heart should beat,
As proud the head with heavy feet.

Days went by when you and I,
bathed in eternal summers glow
As far away and distant, Our
mutual child did grow

Oh the sweet refrain, Soothes
the soul and calms the pain
Oh Albion remains, sleeping
now to rise again

Wandering & wandering, What
place to rest the search
The mighty arms of Atlas,
Hold the heavens from the
earth

The mighty arms of Atlas,
Hold the heavens from the
earth
From the earth...

I know the way,
know the way,
know the way,
know the way . . . "

--Led Zeppelin

Achilles knows what he
must do, and even though
he knows it will kill him,
he must seek out Hector,

but, today, the Higher Law

of the real world is:

DO NOT KILL ANOTHER EVEN
IF YOUR OWN LIFE IS IN DANGER

"And if anyone supposes that
he can go along the way of self-
knowledge GUIDED BY AN EXACT
KNOWLEDGE OF ALL DETAILS, and
if he expects to have such
knowledge WITHOUT FIRST HAVING
GIVEN HIMSELF THE TROUBLE TO
ASSIMILATE THE INDICATIONS HE
HAS RECEIVED CONCERNING HIS

OWN WORK [such as what indications
are possible with method], then he
should first of all understand
that he will not attain knowledge
UNTIL HE MAKES THE NECESSARY
EFFORTS and that ONLY OF HIMSELF
and ONLY BY HIS OWN EFFORTS CAN
HE ATTAIN WHAT HE SEEKS.

"No one can ever give him what he
did not possess before; no one can
do for him the work he should do
for himself.

"All that another can do for him
is to GIVE HIM THE IMPETUS TO WORK
and from this point of view symbolism,
properly perceived, plays the part of
an impetus of this kind for our
knowledge."
--Gurdjieff, ISO, p. 284-5

"The wielder of Gandiva then
fixed on his bow that UNRIVALLED
ARROW, uniting it with a high and
mighty weapon [the Hidden
Hand]. Drawing his bow
Gandiva, he quickly
said,

'Let this shaft of mine be
like a mighty weapon capable
of quickly destroying the
body and heart of my enemy,
IF I HAVE EVER PRACTISED
ASCETIC AUSTERITIES,
gratified my superiors,
and listened to the
counsels of well-
wishers. Let this
shaft, worshipped
by me and POSSESSED
OF GREAT SHARPNESS
[optimum angle of
rotation], slay my
enemy Karna by
that Truth.'

Having said these words
Dhananjaya let off that
terrible shaft for the
destruction of Karna, THAT
ARROW fierce and efficacious
as a rite prescribed in the
Atharvan of Angiras,
BLAZING WITH
EFFULGENCE
[substance],
and incapable
of being endured
by Death [the
insubstantial]
himself in
battle [Divine
Psychological
Warfare]."
--The Mahabharata,
--Book 8: Karna Parva: Section 91

KARNA was chosen as
the leader of the Kuru
forces after the death
of Drona, and held his
own for two days. The
great contest between
Karna and Arjuna, long
expected and long deferred,
came on at last. It is the
crowning incident of the
Indian Epic, as the
contest between
Hector and Achilles
is the crowning incident
of the Iliad. With an
artistic skill like
that of Homer, the
Indian poet represents
Karna as equal to Arjuna
in strength and skill,
and his defeat is
only due to an
accident at what
is called the "moment
of hesitation."

"Dhritarastra said:
O Sanjaya, the feats
that Bhima accomplished
were exceedingly wonderful.
The field of battle could not
tolerate the forceful play of
his powerful mace. Now, O Suta,
please tell me what happened
between the two foremost
chariot fighters, the
son of Kunti, Arjuna
and the son of Radha,
Karna. Their encounter
must have been wonderful
for they are both considered
the best among adhirathas.
Please relate to me all
that happened on that
seventeenth day of
battle.

"Sanjaya said: O King,
during the progress of
the Kurukshetra war, the
sound of the Gandiva bow
was heard above all else.
Arjuna was engaged in
slaughtering the Samsaptaka
headed by King Susharman.
Greatly angered, the
Samsaptakas surrounded
Arjuna's chariot and
began to cover it with
a deluge of weapons. King
Susharman pierced Arjuna with
ten arrows and Krishna with
three. He then pierced the
monkey Hanuman who was
emitting earth trembling
screams from Arjuna's banner.
Not tolerating that shaft,
Hanuman began to roar with
a thunderous voice, and the
Samsaptaka warriors stood
petrified out of intense
fear. Indeed, they all
stood like trees in a
forest. However, inspiring
his troops, King Susharman
rushed at the chariot of
Krishna and Arjuna
releasing his mighty
weapons. The Samsaptakas
overcome with intense anger
began to strike Arjuna's divine
chariot. They hacked at the wheels,
the shaft, the horses and every other
part. Some of the soldiers tried to
seize Lord Krishna as He was driving
the chariot through the mass of
soldiers. Others were trying to
grab Arjuna or hit him with
their weapons. The lotus eyed
Lord Krishna pushed away the
warriors who were trying
desperately to kill Him,
and Arjuna began to mangle
the soldiers around the chariot
with short arrows meant for close
encounters. Cutting off their arms,
legs and heads, he drove away the
large force from the chariot.

"Addressing Lord Krishna, Arjuna
said, 'Behold the mighty Samsaptakas
fighting fiercely in battle. Without
doubt, there is none on earth that
could bear such an attack on his
chariot except myself." Arjuna
then blew his conchshell the
Devadatta, and Lord Krishna blew
His the Panchajanya. Then that
subduer of hostile armies
invoked the Naga (snake)
weapon which paralyzed
the legs of the
Samsaptaka army.
While in that
helpless condition,
Arjuna cut them down
like a great wind storm
cuts down trees.

--Karna Parva Chapter Three

Opposing forces in this War on
Terror, that is to say, those
forces on extreme ends of every
stick in this current and ongoing
conflict are not limited in their
choice of means and, also according
to law, they are able to make use
of every means, even those which
only give rise to a temporary
success such as those extreme
ends known as "suicide bombers,"
doesn't matter, it is all the
same according to those laws
associated with cosmic tension
that govern the World War on
Terror from "behind the
scenes."

"We have spoken earlier of the law
of octaves, of the fact that every
process, no matter upon what scale
it takes place, is completely
determined in its gradual development
by the law of the structure of the
seven-tone scale. In connection with
this it has been pointed out that
every note, every tone, if taken on
another scale is again a whole octave.
The 'intervals' between mi and fa and
between si and do which cannot be
filled by the intensity of the energy
of the process in operation, and
which require an outside 'shock,'
outside help so to speak, connect by
this very fact one process with other
processes. From this it follows that
the law of octaves connects all
processes of the universe and, TO
ONE WHO KNOWS THE SCALES OF THE
PASSAGE AND THE LAWS OF THE STRUCTURE
OF THE OCTAVE, it presents the
possibility of AN EXACT COGNITION OF
EVERYTHING AND EVERY PHENOMENON IN
ITS ESSENTIAL NATURE AND OF ALL ITS
INTERRELATIONS WITH PHENOMENA AND
THINGS CONNECTED WITH IT."
--Gurdjieff, ISO, p. 285

It is understanding
of the Muslim religion
that can arrest violence
more effectively than
any physical weapon
in existence.

"I had become very
interested in ISLAM,
and after great
difficulties and
by much cunning had
managed to get into
Mecca and Medina,
inaccessible to
Christians, IN THE
HOPE OF PENETRATING
INTO THE SECRET HEART
OF THIS RELIGION AND OF
PERHAPS FINDING ANSWERS
THERE TO CERTAIN QUESTIONS
I CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL.

"But my labours had been in vain;
I found nothing. I only made clear
to myself that if there were
anything in this religion it
must be sought not there, as
everyone says and believes,
BUT IN BUKHARA, WHERE FROM
THE BEGINNING THE SECRET
KNOWLEDGE OF ISLAM HAS
BEEN CONCENTRATED, THIS
PLACE HAVING BECOME ITS
VERY CENTER AND SOURCE.
And as I had not lost
either my interest or
hope, I had decided to
go to Bukhara with a group
of Sarts who, having come
to Mecca and Medina as
pilgrims, were
returning home,
and with whom I
had intentionally
established friendly
relations."
--Gurdjieff
--2nd Series, skridlov

"The point is that this community
of Turkey is one of the largest
communities there whose beings
profess this religion of Islam.

PURE FORM

"I must first tell you that from
the beginning of the Islamic
religion, certain beings of this
community took in this teaching
in its ORIGINAL FORM very well
and gradually incorporated it
into their daily existence,
just as the Essene brethren
had done with the Christian
doctrine.

"And therefore, although the Islamic
religion was gradually changed under
the influence of the power-possessors
there, yet among the particular beings
I have mentioned its teaching passed
from generation to generation in an
unchanged form.

"So until now there has remained
at least a faint hope that, if one
day the strange beings of the planet
Earth should suddenly settle down a
little, this teaching would come
back to life and actualize the
aims for which it was created
by the FULL-OF-HOPE Saint
Mohammed."

--Gurdjieff
--ch 38, religion
--Beelzebub's Tales

The chief concern for those of
us who participate in a fourth
way method is to understand these
opposing forces in terms of the
inner life and how it is possible
"to ascend" through the cracks

in the middle where all opposing

forces in terms of the world are

least conscious and, at best,

are no more than half-
conscious.

It is the sense and aim

of existence that can
"arrest" the terror of the
situation from becoming one
of complete destruction
across the planet.

So what is to be done?

The Age of Ascension is a
Stealth Ship of great beauty
as a real and physical

manifestation "on the earth

but not of the earth," thus

fulfilling the vision of Hope

of Mohammed.

In terms of involution, the
conflict will continue toward
a "collection point" at an
unknown place in the middle,
where data from ALL LINES
stream in together and are
collated vis-a-vis "mentation
by form" and then sent

upwards.

"Mentation by form" is explained
by Gurdjieff in chapter 1, arousing
of thought, as that process through
which the precise meaning of all
writing should be perceived and
then assimilated after conscious
confrontation with information
previously acquired. What is
meant by "previously acquired"
has to do with what is determined
in people by the conditions and
circumstances of geography,
climate, time and the general
environment itself as the source
of arising from which existence
flows upward into adulthood.

A cosmic traffic cop directing
material upwards and downwards,
such material in the form of
irruptions "to the surface,"
instantly offered upwards,
thrown back into the solar
fire from which they
came.

With all of this comes the
acknowledgment of each vision
that irrupts for "inner review"
and then law-conformable to
Plan from Above is exchanged
emanations, or the Word God,
and outwards touching everyone
across the planet.

Everyone is behaving feverishly
in all kinds of ways due to the
cosmic tension that is now
present.

These emanations step down
according to the same laws which

were consciously enforced in Egypt
but not from the Egypt we know
today:

"The Christian church, the
Christian form of worship,
was not invented by the
fathers of the church.
It was all taken in a
ready-made form from
Egypt, ONLY NOT FROM
THE EGYPT THAT WE KNOW
BUT FROM ONE WHICH WE DO
NOT KNOW. This Egypt was
was in the same place as
the other but it existed
much earlier. Only small
bits of it survived in
historical times, and
these bits have been
preserved in secret
and so well that we
do not even know where
they have been preserved."

"It will seem strange to
many people when I say
that this prehistoric
Egypt was Christian
many thousands of
years before the
birth of Christ,
that is to say,
that its religion
was composed of the
same principles and
ideas that constitute
true Christianity. Special
schools existed in this pre-
historic Egypt which were
called 'schools of repetition.'"
--Gurdjieff, ISO

Emanations?

What are emanations?

Look at page 69 of IN
SEARCH OF THE MIRACULOUS:

"If we take the simplest words
that occur constantly in speech
and endeavor to analyze the
meaning given to them, we
shall see at once that, at
every moment of his life,
every man puts into each
word a special meaning
which another man can
never put into it or
suspect."
--Gurdjieff

Or as Mullah Nassr
Eddin has characterized:

"All they can do is wrangle
with pigs about the quality
of oranges."

Gurdjieff said:

" . . . during preparatory age
there is acquired in the brain
functioning of every creature,
and thus of man also, a definite
property whose automatic
manifestations proceed
according to a certain
law that the ancient
Korkolans called 'the
law of associations,'
and that the process
of mentation of every
creature, especially
man, flows exclusively
in accordance with this
law."
--ch 1, arousing of thought

Gurdjieff on mentation by form:

"Thus, in the brains of people
of different races living in
different geographical localities
under different conditions, there
arise in regard to one and the
same thing or idea quite different
independent forms, which during
the flow of associations evoke
in their being a definite sensation
giving rise to a definite picturing,
and this picturing is expressed by
some word or other that serves only
for its outer subjective expression."
--ch 1, arousing of thought

When role-play is successful
and effective, it is a temptation
to love the role you are playing
and forget the higher aim, the
higher purpose for which the
role-play is applied. This is
what is called ego inflation,
and then loss of force bleeds
out through involuntary
manifestations.

Inner senses can detect this
loss of force "in the middle"
and then you stop, as in the
stop exercise, stop what you
are doing, the role you are
playing, step away from it
within yourself like Christ
in the language of parable
to a high mountain place.
This will put a hold on
the leak and then you set
about damage control which,
yet again, manifests through
the personality as role-play.

Role-play is a necessary
part of that process of
the working out of a plan
as in a "commando operation."

According to some sources,
the term `commando' itself
came from the Boer war in
South Africa from 1899-1902
where bands of irregular Boers
called `commandos' would strike
swiftly and suddenly at the
British army.

You can only know this for
yourself, "do" this for
yourself, in terms of
YOUR OWN inner life.

Nothing is going to come
if all you do is hope that
roast pigeons will fly into
your mouth by entitlement
which is a disease of our
presently manifesting yet,
nevertheless, slowly but
surely, and in some ways
acceleratedly cracking
"socialist society,"
thus giving way for
something tending
toward the universal
to arise "up the middle"

"That my language, or rather
the form of my mentation, can
produce such an effect I am,
thanks to repeated past
experiences, as much
convinced with my whole
being as a "thoroughbred
donkey" is convinced of
the rightness and justice
of his obstinacy."
--ch 1, arousing of

MYTH OF THE LAMB

Mary had a little lamb,
its fleece was white as snow;
everywhere that Mary went,
the lamb was sure to go.

The "lamb" was the invoked presence
which descended on Jesus. Its fleece
was white as snow and so its purity
unquestioned, these indications
from God are unquestioned and it is
In God We Trust, always and in
everything.

This presence followed Mary everywhere
and eventually produced in her a
messiah.

In this War on Terror with cosmic
tensions getting stronger day by day,
we are each of us forced to follow a
dangerous path.

Observe everywhere around you in the
midst of conditions of life where you
move and live. At certain places like
the market or shopping mall, various
"invoked presences" of certain people
seemingly strangers to one another
come together mysteriously as though
somehow each one is demanding payment
according to his or her own needs.

"Among the various primary
and secondary causes which,
in their totality, are
gradually bringing about
the disharmony of this
fundamental function in
the common presence of
your contemporary favorites
breeding on the continent
of North America, there
is an exceedingly peculiar
one that is 'blatantly
obvious,' but which,
thanks to their
'chicken-brained
understanding,'
thrives with an
impulse of egoistic
satisfaction under,
as it were, a 'cap
of invisibility.'"
--ch 42, America

IN SEARCH OF on page 284:

" . . . the right understanding
of symbols cannot lead to dispute.
It deepens knowledge, and it cannot
remain theoretical because it
intensifies the striving towards
real results, towards the union of
knowledge and being, that is, GREAT
DOING. Pure knowledge cannot be
transmitted, but by being expressed
in symbols it is covered by them
as by a veil, although at the same
time for those who desire and who

know how to look this veil
becomes transparent.

"And in this sense it is
possible to speak of the
symbolism of speech although
this symbolism is not
understood by everyone.
To understand the inner
meaning of what is said
is possible only on a
certain level of development
and when accompanied by the
corresponding efforts and
state of the listener. But
on hearing things which are
new for him, instead of making
efforts to understand them, a
man begins to dispute them, or
refute them, maintaining
against them an opinion
which he considers to be
right and which as a rule
has no relation whatever to
them. In this way he loses
all chance of acquiring
anything new. To be able
to understand speech when
it becomes symbolical it is
essential to have learned
before and to know already
how to listen. Any attempt
to understand literally,
where speech deals with
objective knowledge and
with the union of diversity
and unity, is doomed to
failure beforehand and
leads in most cases to
further delusions.

continuing on the same page:

"It is necessary to dwell
upon this because the
intellectualism of
contemporary education
imbues people with a
propensity and a tendency
to look for logical
definitions and for
logical arguments
against everything
they hear and, without
noticing it, people
unconsciously fetter
themselves with their
desire, as it were, for
exactitude in those spheres
where exact definitions, by
their very nature, imply
inexactitude in meaning.

"Therefore, because of the
tendency referred to in our
thinking, it often happens
that exact knowledge
concerning details,
communicated to
a man before he
has acquired an
understanding of
the essential nature
of a thing, makes it
difficult for him to
understand this essential
nature. This does not mean
that exact definitions do
not exist on the way of
true knowledge, on the
contrary, only there do
they exist; but they differ
very greatly from what we
usually think them to be.
And if anyone supposes
that he can go along
the way of self-knowledge
guided by an exact knowledge
of all details, and if he
expects to have such knowledge
without first having given
himself the trouble to
assimilate the indications
he has received concerning
his own work, THEN HE SHOULD
FIRST OF ALL UNDERSTAND THAT
HE WILL NOT ATTAIN KNOWLEDGE
UNTIL HE MAKES THE NECESSARY
EFFORTS AND THAT ONLY OF
HIMSELF AND ONLY BY HIS
OWN EFFORTS CAN HE ATTAIN
WHAT HE SEEKS. NO ONE CAN
EVER GIVE HIM WHAT HE DID
NOT POSSESS BEFORE; NO ONE
CAN DO FOR HIM THE WORK HE
SHOULD DO FOR HIMSELF. ALL
THAT ANOTHER CAN DO FOR HIM
IS TO GIVE HIM THE I-M-P-E-T-U-S
TO WORK and from this point
of view symbolism, properly
perceived, plays the part of
an impetus of this kind for
our knowledge."

For Gurdjieff is God and
I am God and God Himself
also is God!

Gurdjieff here on page 22
and 23 of the THIRD SERIES
Prologue:

Why could I not look to a
"universal analogy"?

And here also is God!!!
Again God! . . .

Only He is everywhere
and with Him everything
is connected.

I am a man, and as such
I am, in contrast to all
other outer forms of
animal life, created
by Him in His image!!!

For He is God and
therefore I also
have within myself
all the possibilities
and impossibilities
that He has.

The difference between
Him and myself must lie
only in scale.

For He is God of all
the presences in the
universe! It follows
that I also have to
be God of some kind
of presence on my
scale.

He is God and I am God!
Whatever possibilities
He has in relation to
the presences of the
universe, such possibilities
and impossibilities I should
also have in relation to the
world subordinate to me.

He is God of all the
world, and also of my
outer world.

I am God also, although
only of my inner world.

He is God and I am God!

For all and in everything
we have the same possibilities
and impossibilities!

Whatever is possible
or impossible in the
sphere of His great
world should be possible
or impossible in the
sphere of my small
world.

This is clear as that
after the night must
inevitably come the
day.

But how could I have
failed to notice such
a startling analogy?"

A fourth way method
can manifest for an aim
corresponding to the sense

and aim of existence and such
direction is described by
Gurdjieff here:

" . . . . the direction corresponding to the
sense and aim of existence—a striving which is
the OBJECTIVE LOT of every three-brained being
in whom, FOR WHATEVER REASON (fourth way
method), the germ arises for the coating of the
'highest being-body.'"

"And thus, the effect of this divine attention
directed toward these tetartocosmoses was that,
while serving as apparatuses for the Most Great
Cosmic Trogoautoegocrat, the possibility appeared
in them that from among the cosmic substances
transformed through them, both for the needs of
this most great common-cosmic process and for
the needs of the process of their own existence—
the latter substances composed exclusively of
cosmic crystallizations derived from the
transformations of that planet itself on which
these tetartocosmoses arose—results began to
appear in their common presences such as
proceed from COSMIC SOURCES OF A HIGHER

ORDER, and COMPOSED OF WHAT ARE CALLED

VIBRATIONS OF GREATER 'VIVIFYINGNESS.'"
--Gurdjieff
--ch 39, Purgatory

ALL-UNIVERSAL CATASTROPHE

"In the beginning, all the
'highest being-bodies,' like
those who now have the place
of their existence on this
holy planet, went directly
to our Most Most Holy Sun
Absolute, but later, when
that all-universal terrifying
calamity which we call the
'chootboglitanical period'
occurred in the Megalocosmos,
similar 'highest being-bodies,'
having lost the possibility of
blending directly with our
Most Most Holy Sun Absolute,
began to dwell on this holy
planet."

"Only after this
'chootboglitanical
period' did the
necessity arise
for that order of
universal functioning
which this Holy Planet
Purgatory fulfills at
the present time.

--Gurdjieff
--ch 39, Purgatory

ORIGINAL CRYSTALLIZATION

"When we were there [on
Holy Planet Purgatory],
you probably noticed that
we always saw and sensed
that the entire space of
our Great Universe or, as
your favorites would say,
the 'WHOLE SKY,' seemed to
reflect a RADIANCE recalling
that of the famous and
incomparable 'ALMACORNIAN
TURQUOISE.' Its atmosphere
is always as pure as the
'PHENOMENAL SAKROOALNIAN
CRYSTAL.'

MENTOKIFEZOIN

"And it was from such cosmic results that
exactly similar forms began to be coated
in their common presences, composed at first
of the cosmic substance 'mentokifezoin,' that
is, of substances transformed by the sun and
the other planets of that solar system
within whose limits these tetartocosmoses
had the place of their arising—substances
that reach every planet through the radiations
of the said cosmic concentrations.

"In this way, the common presence of certain
tetartocosmoses then began to be composed
of two independent formations coming from two
entirely different cosmic sources, and these
formations began to have a Joint existence,
as if one were placed within the other.

"Now when everything corresponding to
it was acquired in the new coating of
these two-natured formations and all the
functioning proper to such cosmic arisings
was finally established, these new
formations in their turn—on exactly the
same basis as in the first case, and also
provided that there was a certain change
of functioning—-began to absorb and
assimilate cosmic substances issuing
directly from the Most Most Holy
Theomertmalogos, after which,
similarities of a third kind began to
be coated in them.

"These coatings, which are the 'highest
sacred parts' of beings, we
now call 'HIGHEST BEING-BODIES.'

--Gurdjieff
--ch 39, Purgatory

"And I possess such "inner wealth" that in
the objective sense it is worth many times
more than all the money that can be imagined
by the human brain, such as, for example,
the whole estate which fell to the so-called
"New York five-and-ten heiress," plus all
the money hoarded in cash by the peasants
of France."
--Gurdjieff, p. 52
--Prologue, Third Series

The inner wealth described by
Gurdjieff above did not arise
from anything having to do with
so-called "education" but from
the pressing of the most sensitive
raw places in the psychological
sense of everyone he met, that is
to say, in the sense of harmless

psychological warfare thus leading

to the formation of a new and real

function facilitating the reversal
on a grand scale of all
psychic abilities such
as negative clairvoyance, all
such abilities which were
understood and mastered
by Gurdjieff, thus replacing

the nonsense associated

with so-called "sex magic".

TO KNOW THE FUTURE

"In order to know the
future it is necessary
first to know the present
in all its details, as well
as to know the past. Today is
what it is because yesterday
was what it was. And if
today is like yesterday,
tomorrow will be like today.
If you want tomorrow to be
different, you must make
today different. If today
is simply a consequence of
yesterday, tomorrow will be
a consequence of today in
exactly the same way. And
if one has studied
thoroughly what
happened yesterday,
the day before yesterday,
a week ago, a year, ten years
ago, one can say unmistakably
what will and what will not
happen tomorrow. But at
present we have not
sufficient material
at our disposal to
discuss this question
seriously. What happens
or may happen to us may
depend upon three causes:
upon accident, upon fate,
or upon our own will. Such
as we are, we are almost wholly
dependent upon accident. We can
have no fate in the real sense
of the word any more than we
can have will. If we had will,
then through this alone we
should know the future,
because we should then
make our future, and make
it such as we want it to be.
If we had fate, we could also
know the future, because fate
corresponds to type. If the
type is known, then its
fate can be known, that
is, both the past and
the future. But
accidents cannot
be foreseen. Today
a man is one, tomorrow
he is different: today
one thing happens to him,
tomorrow another."

"But are you not able to
foresee what is going to
happen to each of us,"
somebody asked, "that
is to say, foretell what
result each of us will reach
in work on himself and whether
it is worth his while to begin
work?"

"It is impossible to say,"
said Gurdjieff. "One can only
foretell the future for men. It
is impossible to foretell the future
for MAD MACHINES. Their direction
changes every moment. At one
moment a machine of this kind
is going in one direction and
you can calculate where it can
get to, but five minutes later
it is already going in quite a
different direction and all your
calculations prove to be wrong.
Therefore, before talking about
knowing the future, one must
know whose future is meant.
If a man wants to know his
own future he must first of
all know himself. Then he will
see whether it is worth his while
to know the future. Sometimes, maybe,
it is better not to know it."
--Gurdjieff
--ch 6, ISO

The fourth way is infallible
and, therefore, is an indispensable
means for the accumulation of substance
apart from and yet connected with physical
earth nerve nodes.

The more of what is superfluous
is sacrificed, the more room
there is for a greater
concentration of what
really matters and,
consequently, there
is a greater acceleration
back-and-forth of transmission
of substance.

The Ray of Creation is
organic and all living
things in it, including
all suns, planets, moons
and those self-chosen
"few" of humanity,
must meet a certain
responsibility, or
being-duty (conscious
labor and intentional
suffering), to evolve,
to swim upstream toward
the Creator, the Absolute.

The self-chosen of humanity

is at the growing edge of
conscious evolution for
humanity as a whole, and
so humanity as a totality
cannot evolve unless there
are those few among us who
live a way of life of self-
perfecting, the Path of
Ascension.

But because we are not
meeting that responsibility,
there is War, and War is
Great Nature's way of
meeting the general
needs of the Ray of
Creation which cannot
be met otherwise.

"The process of existence
on this planet was gradually
established, and to all
appearances was taking
place just as on all
other planets.

"But by close observation it
could be seen that the number
of these three-brained beings
was increasing. Furthermore,
sometimes very strange
manifestations of theirs
could be observed, they
did something from time
to time that was never
done by three-brained
beings on other planets,
that is, they would
suddenly, without
rhyme or reason,
begin destroying
one another's
existence.

"We gradually got used to
this last peculiarity of
theirs, telling ourselves
that obviously, for certain
higher considerations, this
property must have been given
to the organ kundabuffer
intentionally by the Most
High Commission, because
seeing the fecundity of
these biped beings, we
assumed that large
numbers of them
would be needed
to maintain the
'common-cosmic
harmonious
movement.'"

KORAN SURAH 48: VICTORY

In the Name of God
All-Compassionate
All-Merciful
All-Honorable

Surely We have given to you
a clear victory, that God may
forgive your community their
past sins and those sins
which are to follow that
He may complete His favor
to you that He may keep you
on a right path, a straight
path, and bestow on you His
mighty help.

It is God who sends down
tranquillity into the hearts
of the faithful so that with
faith added to faith their
faith will grow stronger--
God's are the hosts of
the heavens and the
earth; God is All-Knowing,
God is All-Wisdom; that He
may cause the believing men
and the believing women to
enter gardens beneath and
within which rivers flow
as running streams there
to abide forever and remove
them from their evil, a great
attainment born of love and

struggle  .  .  .

All of this that was
taken from the Koran
in connection with the
idea of victory for the
purpose of a life long
process of unburying of
conscience, a process of
redemption AND NOT JUST
FOR MYSELF from the
insanity of "dead
letter" without
substance.

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I am come
that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd
giveth his life for the sheep."
--John 10:10-11 (King James Version)
