Hi All,
I’m working my way through the Gunton corpus for my thesis and can’t get access to the new editions of a couple of his works and am wondering before I do much more work in trying to obtain them if anyone is aware of whether they underwent significant revision or are just reissues? I’m thinking here in particular of “The Promise of Trinitarian Theology” (1992/2004) and “Christ and Creation” (1990/2005). Any feedback on whether/what the differences are in those 2nd editions or others from anyone who has had access to both would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

I don't think I can answer those questions, but if you'd like a friendly ear or two from CEG's stable, try me.  Colin was my supervisor 1987-1992, and a light in my life.  My examiners in 1992 were Christoph S. for KCL and Dan Hardy external.  My subject was TFT.

I'd like to know what your 'thesis' is in the narrow sense.....God bless you -

Jeremy,

I don't recall a significant difference between C&C 1990/2005 (although I might be wrong there), but the second edition of PTT has a much expanded preface which is well worth getting a hold of.

Best of luck with your research, and as Richard says, you are always welcome to share thoughts / ideas / ongoing projects.

Best regards,

Dear Robert,

If you go to the back of Colin E. Gunton, The Barth Lectures (Continuum 2007), which I edited, you will find a complete and definitive bibliography of Colin's published works. The same bibliography is also in Colin E. Gunton Revelation and Reason: Prolegomena to Systematic Theology, again, Continuum, published last month in the US and out in the UK January 2009.

Paul
