Hi
im new on here and new to online recording software. i downloaded audacity to my PC running Windows vista but the program wont open. very frustrating.
I seen a post on here saying you need to download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
i went on there but it has this and i dont know which i should download.
File Name
vc_redist.x64.exe File Size 13.9 MB
I followed the instructions.
downloaded audacity and it said completed.
then i downloaded Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and chose the vc_redist.x86.exe File for Win Vista and that also stated completed.
i then rebooted my pc but im still getting those same error messages above.
so frustrating. any ideas whats the problem ?
thanks
Thanks Steve
Finally!.. thats done the trick it opened version 2 2 1 no problem.
now i just need to get my head around it Lol.
When i drag n drop a Wav backing track should i have it in stereo or mono,
and whats the best Project rate Hz ? its set at 48000 at the moment.
lastly when i close the program does it automatically save the project or do i have to save it ?

forgot to ask,
does this program have vocal effects such as reverb and delay etc as the drop down list
does not allow you to click on them ?
Also how many individual tracks can you record on this program. such as if i have a backing track to sing along to, could i record 20 more tracks along side that backing track ?
