Hi All,

DevFest Brazza is now over. It was a great success.

On behalf of the GDG Brazza Team we warmly thank you for helping make DevFest Brazza 2012 a huge success.

The event took place on 10th Nov. 2012 at the IHEM University, in Brazzaville. The event focused on Android, HTML5 and Google Map API.

Over 112 people participated in the event with a mix of students and working professionals (architects to junior developers).

Android and Google Map API were the most popular sessions during the conference part of the event but all the training sessions focused on Android Web App using HTML5.

Attendees also got an overview of Google Apps API and were able to see how these tools can be personalized and used for Start Ups and universities. The director of IHEM University took a particular interest in this topic and would like to organize more sessions on Google Apps API for the university's employees

We will definitively work in this direction.

  • Participating GDG Leaders : 2 (GDG Brazza and Kinshasa GDG)
  • Women: 12 (about 10%)

What’s next :

  • Africa Android Challenge 2012/2013 : We are planning to launch the 2th edition of the AAC on the end of this month.
  • Africa Android Training : We started live free Webinar for Android Programing. The next Webinar (20 sessions in 10 weeks) will starts on Saturday, January 12, 2013 via Webex and more than 210 GDGs and JUGs members already registered from 13 Countries.
  • Google BarCamp : To encourage and prepare more Developers from Central Africa to get started and jump in various Google’s challenges, we are planning to host several BarCamp / Hackathon on Google APPs API across the continent (Congo, RDC, Cameroon, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Bénin and Togo).
