Sadly, I received no submissions to the competition. If anyone is
still working on an entry, I can extend the deadline... otherwise it's
time for a postmortem.

Hi Jesse,

That's a real shame, as I was looking forward to someone creating a
'finished' game with Guncho, and I thought that holding a competition would
get a few people interested in developing a few new games and raise the
profile of Guncho, which I think is a very worthy platform and one that I
will definitely be pursuing as and when I can.

Personally, my main project, which is a port of another game, has had to
take a back seat to other things going on in my life right now, and the new
game that I was working on has had to follow suit.

My guess is that this probably holds true for others as well.

I hope that there are people working on entries and that they simply need
more time, but if not, then I guess the comp will have to be suspended for
now.

I don't follow the comp scene at all, but I was wondering if 3 to 4 months
was sufficient development time for a Guncho game to be 'ready' for release?
I don't know how long people usually have to develop games for other comps,
but bearing in mind that the other comps are all single-player and
considering the additional complexities of developing for multi-player, I
suspect that the average time to market for a basic game that is worthy of
people playing is likely to be a lot longer.

Regards,
Paul.

I agree with Paul. I've only just found out about Guncho recently so I
don't know how it has been for others to get to grips with the
multiplayer coding. Maybe the competition for a full multiplayer game
should be a longer term competition while a smaller competition could
be done on the basis of showing a good little example of what can be
done with the multiplayer code even if it's just a few rooms with a
nifty multiplayer puzzle.
