Hi all,

I am wondering if anybody could give me any insights re the current (or recent) snow conditions. Specifically, I am planning to do parts (or all) of the Mamores Ridge on Tuesday and Wednesday and I am wondering if anybody could give me any advice on what sort of snow situation I should expect on the ridge, whether crampons are likely required/advisable etc.

I have done part of the ridge a few years back (as part of a full traversal attempt which had to be abondoned after my hiking partner pulled a muscle), so generally speaking I am familiar with the terrain, but my last visit was in late summer, so obviously the general situation was different.

I shall be grateful for any advice or insight!
Christian

P.S. also, if you feel like joining me: I plan to drive up Tuesday morning, maybe leaving around 10am, then doing some walking in the afternoon (depending on the conditions possibly the three (or four?) western most of the Mamores munros (counterclockwise)) to see how the conditions are, then sleep either in the car or in a BnB in Ft Williams and have a really early start (5ish) on Wednesday to have a nice long and hard day on the ridge (clockwise, with an attempt to get the remainder of the ridge done).

Hi Christian, snow level is c800m at present and soft (but I would probably take crampons just in case). Don't emulate the root!
