Over the last 12-16 months the owner of the Park has been doing some
overdue cleaning and a little clearing. The result is a reasonably
large fire hazard created. The reason that the debris is not being
cleaned up in favor of making large dry wood piles of branches,
leaves, pine needles. tree trunks and misc debris. Several of the
piles have been burned without any real way to control an out of
control blaze had it happened. This Park is primarily a woodland.

A check with the County show that about 70% of the Park roads are NOT
PASSABLE by public fire fighting equipment. It does not take much of
an imagination to understand the fire hazard that exists. The owners
of the Park do not reside in the Park, so if anyone's home burns down
the result of this scary practice that is going on it will be NOT
theirs ... it will be mine and/or the other residents. Absolutely not
acceptable.

Really reckless and thoughtless conduct in my opinion.

The County and State fire control agency's have been contacted, the
Park has been inspected and it is understood that rigid safeguard
conditions have been put down for anymore fires of this kind to take
place in the Park from now on.

*** The owners must now have two tractors or similar equipment at the
fire site when burning, must have an adequate water supply to
extinguish a runaway fire, must have gained a approved site burning
permit for each fire prior to burning, must only burn between sun up
and sunset and must have adequate personnel present at all times a
live fire is going.

The State and County are to be called if any more violations are
seen ... and they WILL be called.

It did not take long for the owner/managers of the Park, or their
assigns, to start another large fire without any permit, no fire
equipment was present and no water reasonably available. This was done
on Friday, September 23 just a little after dark. Fortunately someone
did see the blaze and called the local fire departmen. The Fire
Department responded, a great cost to the public, with a large fire
truck. The truck could not make it to the point of the large fire as
the roads are impassable to such equipment, so the fire crew had to
walk in to extinguish the blaze. No one was even attending the fire
once lit.

In my opinion a selfish and blatant disregard for anyone living in the
Park and anything that may have burned down.

A County and State investigation has been opened as to why the owner/
managers disregarded the previous orders issued just a couple of weeks
old not to do this.
