Please pass the word around if you are native of historic St. Helena Island, SC in the Gullah/Geechee Nation.  We are attaching a flyer and a historic resources survey that can be completed in writing and turned in at the upcoming meeting on April 10th or you can use the link below to access the survey.  Please do not miss these meetings that are being held on the island!

Upcoming Meetings

• Community Meeting with Councilman York Glover – Thursday April 4^th at 5:30 pm at the St. Helena library. Topics to discuss include Russ Point boat landing with guest speaker Interim County Administrator John Robinson and update on broadband access on the island with Information Technology Assistant County Administrator Patrick Hill.

 

• Community Meeting on Beaufort County Historic Resources Survey – Wednesday April 10^th 4:00-6:00 pm at the St. Helena library (see attached meeting flyer and a paper version of the questionnaire). Following the recommendation in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, Beaufort County received a grant to update its current Above Ground Historic Survey for structures located on St. Helena and South of the Broad. This meeting will include background information from Beaufort County staff and walk attendees through the online survey, which can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/BCHistoricPlaces.

 

• CPO Committee Meeting – Tuesday April 16^th at 5:30 pm at the St. Helena library.

 

• Community Meeting with Councilman York Glover – Thursday April 18^th at 5:30 pm at the St. Helena library. Topics to discuss include workforce and affordable housing with Beaufort Jasper Housing Trust and introduction to new Parks and Recreation Director, Eric Brown.

 

• Beaufort County Council Meetings – Monday April 8^th at 5pm and Monday April 22nd at 5:00 pm
