Subject: Upcoming Park Events and Programs with Reconstruction Era National Historical Park

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to send a quick email and share with you about a few upcoming programs we have here at Reconstruction Era National Historical Park.

On Tuesday, September 9 at 6pm at Darrah Hall at the Penn Center National Historic Landmark District on St. Helena Island, Park Historian Eric Ellis will be giving a presentation on some research he's been doing with Tax Maps drawn around Beaufort and the surrounding Islands in the 1870s. For additional information check out: Mapping Reconstruction Era Beaufort by Park Historian Eric Ellis Also some of the staff from the National Parks Conservation Association will be in town that day and are planning to provide some refreshments during this event. If you have any questions about this presentation please reach out to Eric at eric_...@nps.gov

On Wednesday, September 10 at 4pm at the Grand Army of the Republic Hall on Newcastle Street in downtown Beaufort, our park intern James Height will be giving a presentation on the Combahee Raid. James's project this summer has been working to build a tour in the NPS App of the Combahee Raid, and so this presentation will give James and opportunity to share some of the work he's been doing. For additional information, please check out Landfall: Come by the Combee If you have any questions about this presentation please reach out to Elena DeMarco at elena_...@nps.gov

Thank you for all you do to help make sure our visitors to Beaufort County have a positive experience in engaging with the Reconstruction story!

Sincerely,
Chris Barr
