GUIDELINES FOR CANDIDATES ON MERIT LIST FOR FIRST ROUND OF COUNSELLING

All the candidates, who have qualified for the first round of Counselling for admission to 2011 batch of B Tech (ICT) of DA-IICT, are required to attend the counselling at the Institute's Campus as per the schedule given below. A candidate may be accompanied by one Parent/Guardian.

The candidates, on the Merit Lists (based on the All India Rank of AIEEE 2011), have been posted individual letters of invitation for counselling and these should reach them soon. However, even if a candidate who has qualified but has not received such communication, he/she must come for counselling as per the above schedule.

Counselling is the final phase of the admission process, and is primarily intended to:
- provide you an opportunity to see the Institute and its facilities.
- provide you an opportunity to seek any clarification prior to making your final decision to pay the fees and join the Institute – if admission is finally offered to you.
- verify the original and true copies of all certificates/credentials related to your eligibility for admission to the program.

In case you do not attend the counselling on the stipulated date and time, it will be presumed that you are not interested in admission to the Institute and the seat would be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.

During the counselling, depending on your merit, you will be offered a confirmed seat, if a seat is available. If a seat is not available, you will be offered a place on the waitlist. The waitlist status will be updated continuously at this website starting 06 July 2011.

All the candidates who are offered admission (confirmed as well as waitlist) will be required to immediately pay Rs. 40,000 (Rupees forty thousand only) through a Demand Draft only drawn in favour of “DA-IICT” and payable at Ahmedabad to cover:
- Tuition fee* of Rs. 30,000 for Semester-I and
- Caution Deposit of Rs. 10,000 (refundable at the end of the program).
* Tuition fee likely to be revised, subject to approval. If the fee structure gets revised before commencement of the Autumn 2011-12 session, the candidate will be asked to pay an additional Rs.15,000/- towards adjustment of the tuition fee for the first semester at the time of first semester registration.

No extension of time will be granted for paying the fees later.Failure to deposit the fees by the stipulated time will be taken as your refusal to take the admission to DA-IICT; in such case, the seat would be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.

Scholarships would be awarded to all the students, who take admission in the program, with an All India Rank better than 5000 (n.b. smaller numerical value indicates higher rank: e.g. a student with rank 01 is the best performer nationally). In addition, some merit-cum-means scholarships are also available.

We are making efforts to work out special rates with different hotels at Gandhinagar/ Ahmedabad. Should you be needing hotel accommodation, you will be able to get the information here.

Further, on the day of counselling, Courtesy Coaches to bring the candidates/guardians to the Institute Campus will also be available at the Ahmedabad Railway Station. The coaches will be available between 06.00 hrs and 08.15 hrs. The last coach will depart from the Railway Station sharp at 08.15 hrs.

All expenses for attending the counselling will have to be borne by you. DA-IICT will not reimburse any charge/cost on this account.

The confirmation message should include the DA-IICT Application No., AIEEE Roll Number, Name, and the DA-IICT Merit List number.
