Pexip VMRs can output a dedicated RTMP/RTMPS multimedia stream to enterprise CDN (Content Delivery Network) streaming and recording services such as Wowza, Quickchannel, Qumu, VideoTool, Microsoft Stream and Azure Media Services, and to public streaming services such as YouTube and Facebook. Any Pexip conference can be streamed as a live event to an unlimited number of viewers, and can automatically be recorded and stored for later consumption.

If your conference contains presentation content, you have the option of setting up dual streams so that you can output the main video and presentation content channels separately. This means that viewers can simultaneously access the main video stream of the participants and a separate presentation content stream.

The administrator or meeting Host has to decide whether to set up the conference with a single RTMP stream or with dual RTMP streams. Currently, you cannot set up a single stream purely for presentation content.

When a Connect app user adds a new participant to a conference, Automatic routing is used, meaning that the dialed alias must match an appropriate Call Routing Rule, and the call is then placed using the protocols and other settings as specified in the rule.

After you have created the above rule, it will also apply to any calls placed using the administrator interface, or to an Automatically dialed participant, where you have selected to route the call automatically.

Some streaming services support RTMP only, and not RTMPS. Therefore, if Media encryption is set to Required (either globally or for the specific VMR being used), a call to the RTMP-only streaming service will fail.

Initiate a call from the conference to the streaming address. This is done by adding the streaming address as a conference participant. You can do this either from the Pexip Infinity Administrator interface or from a Connect app connected to the VMR. Alternatively, for services that offer persistent URLs (such as with YouTube) which therefore can be re-used for subsequent streams, you could set up the URL to be automatically dialed whenever a particular VMR is used.

For some reason in Safari (and no other major browser), when I serve an MP3 via PHP through an Audio context in JavaScript, the duration of the MP3 is always returned as infinity.

Like many, I'm generating the mp3 through a php page, mostly in order to "hide" the real link of the mp3. And for this, Safari is quite annoying. To make it short, Safari considers the sound as a "live broadcast", ending up having this "infinite" duration. For the details, this post explained quite well why.

Of course you've done all your checking on link, vars, etc to protect the page. Note that my example is mp3, so I have to call the function with 'audio/mpeg'. If you output a different fileformat, you will have to adapt the content Type of the function.

When mathematicians talk about their experiences with mathematics more people can relate. So we need a lot of different perspectives and a diversity of people willing to share their stories. There is something for everybody in mathematics if they are willing to explore it. This infinity documentary makes that clear.

This paper introduces the concept of autonomous stimulus generation using streaming data techniques and discusses its application in the verification of complex sensor style devices. With a focus on digital simulation of SoCs containing real-number models for the analog sub-components, we demonstrate how to implement autonomous analog and digital data streaming patterns using UVM sequences and drivers.

Infinity Train

The first two seasons of the series, originally broadcast on Cartoon Network, are now streaming on HBO Max. The first five episodes of the third season began streaming exclusively on HBO Max on August 13, 2020, with the remaining episodes due to premiere on August 20 (aka today) and August 27.

Some six weeks ago, I expressed my frustration with HBO Max as a streaming service due to its unavailability on Roku devices -- or Amazon Fire devices, too, come to think of it. As I noted: "The only way I can watch HBO Max is on my laptop and/or hooking it up to my television via a long cable, which kinda defeats the purpose of owning a television that's hooked up to the internet, and also makes the service clumsy, if you like to sample different shows, as I often enjoy."

On the verge of canceling the service last weekend, I agreed to sample it for another month because it was offered as part of a renewal package for my cable service (old school, to be sure). And I did something I should have done weeks or months ago: I spent US$30.00 and purchased a Google Chromecast, a small device that hooks up to an HDMI outlet on my television, which allows it to receive source material from certain authorized apps on my iPhone, including HBO Max.

Gadzooks! It works, and it allows me to use my cell phone as a remote control for HBO Max, which is not as simple or intuitive as a dedicated remote control, but it does the job, allowing me to watch the service without connecting a long cable. The service features quite a good number of TV shows and movies that fall into categories that are personally appealing: indie, international, and animated fare chief among them.

Thus, it was much easier to sample Infinity Train last weekend, then keep sampling subsequent episodes, then add it to my watchlist, and then to binge half of the first season earlier this week.

Created by Owen Dennis (Cartoon Network's Regular Show), the series follows a young teen girl named Tulip, who stumbles onto a mysterious train that is made up of train cars that are each worlds unto themselves; each car, or world, is wondrous and mysterious and utterly delightful, for the most part, except when it's not, which is entirely intentional.
