To make it clear, Construction Simulator has a really basic driving model. It focuses on the actual construction part and has you run a company, including management of trucks, contracts, buying or renting construction machines (there are more then 80 of them).
The game is similar to SnowRunner in terms of a Zen-like game. It's calm, often a bit repetative game loop that still has you changing what to do often enough to not throw you into boredom. I.e. I had to drive to location and load the components for a noise protection wall. Then I had to unload them onto the construction site, then I had to place them to build the actual wall. After that was done, I had to do all of this once more for the second section of the noise protection wall.

The Kaizen of work processes using the simulator in 2021 produced significant results, including a halving of work hours without changing the load on workers. On the other hand, the larger the scale of a construction, the longer it takes to create the simulator. In the first place, it was difficult to create the simulator without mastering coding techniques. Therefore, in 2022, we worked with Obayashi Corporation (Obayashi) to evolve the simulator into a tool that is easy to use and can be utilized in large and complex operations. In this article, we will introduce the details of our efforts and key points of the development with a development member, Nagisa Adachi.
