With a roster of 500+ cars available in Forza Horizon 5, it will certainly take a long time to unlock them. Sometimes, you may end up on a rare car via wheelspin or you may have to put in a lot of effort to get it. Now, if you want to gift a car to a fellow FH5 player, that would certainly be a nice gesture. In this guide, find out how to gift cars in Forza Horizon 5, how to receive gift drops and know if you can send cars to friends as well.

You can only gift cars to the categories of anyone, new players, returning players, new hall of fame members or community contributers. You cannot choose a specific person to receive the gift. This is good because things can go pretty wrong if you could just swap cars between friends and the gaming experience could get messed up. Moreover, players could turn to unethical ways to obtaining cars from others as well. Thankfully, this will be avoided.

During your journey through the Mexican landscapes in Forza Horizon 5, you're going to find yourself absolutely flooded with new cars that you might be looking to pass on to other players. Whether earning them through completing Accolades, winning them from Wheelspins, or buying them off of the Auction House, Playground Games' latest wants you to get you behind as many wheels as possible.

With all of those cars constantly coming in, you might want to offload some extras or even just play the good samaritan and give someone a little present. Fortunately, doing so isn't too difficult. You just need to know where to go.

The first thing you have to do to send gift cars to other players is to make sure you're online. If you try to do this while connected to the internet, it won't work. After all, it's not like you can hook up to a LAN network to send cars to your friends.

Once you're online, head into the main menu. Then, scroll over until you're in the My Horizon subsection of the menu. On the right-hand side, you'll see an option labeled "Gift Drop." Click on this to start the gift-giving process.

As you'd expect, you'll first need to select the car you want to gift. It should be noted that you cannot gift a car you're currently driving, so make sure you hop out if you need to. Then, you'll get the opportunity to select who you want to send the car to. You'll have a few options, but we usually just gift our cars to new players. They're the ones who likely need it. You can then send a message alongside, though you can only do this from pre-generated responses. No trolling here.

There are over 700 cars players can collect in Forza Horizon 5, and sometimes not all of them are desirable. Players can acquire new cars by purchasing them from the Auto Show, Auction House, or spinning wheels. With many cars on offer, players are bound to unlock vehicles they already own or will never use in races. Thankfully, players can gift cars in Forza Horizon 5 to other players as a nice gesture.

Acquiring rare cars in Forza Horizon 5 can be frustrating as it requires a lot of time and effort. Players are often met with disappointment when the Wheelspin does not yield a desirable car. Gifting cars in Forza Horizon 5 is a new feature that was not present in previous titles. However, PlayGround Games has now included a mechanic that lets players get rid of their unwanted cars in a charitable manner.

While having the ability to gift any car in Forza Horizon 5 was a much-needed mechanic, Playground Games has ensured players cannot exploit the new feature. It is worth noting that the game does not allow sending gifts to friends. Forza Horizon 5 does not allow specific people to receive gifts as it can interfere with the game's overall experience.

There are two ways players can gift cars in Forza Horizon 5. The first method involves going to "My Horizon" in the menu and selecting the "Gift Drop" option. Alternatively, players can go to a Barn Find location and press the interact button to start a gift from that location. In the gifting menu, players will have to choose from five different options:

To receive gifts, players will get a message notification as soon as they start the game and can be claimed from the Message Center. For Barn Find gifts, players must head over to that specific location to claim the gift. To make the entire process less frustrating, players need to have the Buenas Vistas home unlocked so that they can fast travel to locations in Forza Horizon 5. When a Barn Find gift is claimed, the sender also gets a notification that another player has acquired their gift.

Which makes it hard to come to terms with this news: TEN Publishing, which owns 22 automotive publications, is ending the print edition of all but three magazines. Automobile gets the axe. So does Super Street, Diesel Power, Truck Trend and literally a dozen others.

Hailie Deegan, the 18-year old racing prodigy who had been in line to take a seat with Toyota in NASCAR one day, has instead been signed by Ford Motorsport. This is huge news. Deegan is regarded as a surefire future winner and a lot of eyes will be on her in the semi-pro ARCA Menards Series next season.

Fox Sports will broadcast the entire Bathurst 12 Hours in Australia live and without commercials. The Supercars series is coming off a fantastic season and to me this speaks to the growing popularity of a really fun sport.

I'm excited for EVs to become mainstream. It's going to be a branch of modding that will bring in new crowds of people. I also love the Radwood era resurgence and the fact that people can appreciate the mundane. I have a huge soft spot for "boring" cars that were commercial misses.

This is very context dependent for me. I have a great group of friends I've met through cars both irl and online, and my gender identity/orientation is just a fact about me that they know, on the same level of "I'm tall" or "I like 7MGTEs." That said, if I leave that group of friends, I don't feel welcome frequently. Every time I roll up to the local classic car meet they are judging me and my partner before we get out of our cars, as we're both pretty visibly queer. We are generally not welcome. We're not unsafe being there but there's also just a general lack of inclusion for anyone who isn't Like Them: a cishet, usually white, guy. This isn't a special experience to me, either, because a lot of my cis women and POC friends end up feeling the same way frequently at these older skewed events. I think it's less a "car culture" experience and more of a general culture one - we have a huge split between generational mindsets of acceptance. and it's especially apparent in any traditionally male-dominated hobby, like cars. This obviously isn't universal and I have a lot of awesome OG older car friends who I respect immensely (and some younger people I know that are not polite about us at all), but I think the overall trends are undeniable. I think in general things are improving but maybe not at the rate that would encourage a queer person interested in cars to actually come out for a meet, and I can't blame anyone for that, and that's part of what I want to try and help change by being a visibly queer car enthusiast. I want to show people that there is a place for anyone in the car scene, regardless of identity.

I’m also proud to announce that copies are now available in Autobooks-Aerobooks, an automotive themed bookstore in Burbank that has been a fantastic partner. We’re looking forward to having some fun together in 2020 so stay tuned.

Perhaps biggest of all is that Automobile magazine featured Slow Car Fast in its 2020 holiday gift guide. This is an unbelievable honor. I’m so grateful to the editors who thought to include me. As someone who fell in love with cars through the stunning photography and tales in that mag, this is a moment I’ll carry with me a long time.

Obviously it’s sad to see any magazine go. But these are particularly hard, because they were instrumental in building the social fabric that is car culture for literal decades. In some cases, they had tremendous impact on entire communities.

It’s part of why I’m passionate about building direct models for journalists and authors to get their work out. I think we’ll need to build individual audiences more and more in the future. The importance of institutions cannot be overstated. But this is the media landscape we’ve been given and we’ll have to make the most of it.

In the meantime, I’m thinking of those affected by cuts and pledging to appreciate the outlets I love, while supporting more creators directly in 2020. Thank you Automobile. Thank you Super Street, Lowrider, Truck Trend and all the others. Ink stains forever.

Toyota is building a drool-worthy Yaris GR from its Gazoo Racing performance arm. It’ll never come to the U.S. but at least someone is doing it! This will be a future import classic for sure.
