Teresa,

Fish meal is for adult guineas if they show that they have a protein deficiency.

Last year I had a couple birds with curled wing feathers due to not giving them Wild Game Starter as keets.  As a result ...I tried to cure them by adding Fish Meal to their diets....40% protein.   Neither bird could fly well...both ended up being eaten by predators as a result at age 4 months.   Using the 29% Wild Game starter for keets is mandatory in all cases.  I mistakenly believed since my birds were "on the ground" from the beginninng...they'd not need the extra protein from the Wild Game Starter.  I also had previously bought a 50# bag of chick starter for my game fowl chicks and had 40 lbs of it left when the keets started hatching.  I sorta felt like the % difference in the protein might not be an issue.  My keets are on the ground in large brooder boxes within a 48 hrs of hatching.  I believed the extra protein needed was because most everyone raises keets in rather sterile boxes.  Anyway...at this point I'm convinced that guinea keets require higher protein starter feed regardless of what environment they're brooded in.
