Instant Star is a Canadian musical comedy-drama television series which aired from 15 September 2004 to 26 June 2008. The series stars Alexz Johnson as teenage singing competition winner Jude Harrison. The show chronicles Harrison's experience in the recording industry whilst focusing on character development.[citation needed]
Four seasons of the show (each with 13 episodes) were made. CTV and The N both pulled funding following the fourth season, despite plans by Epitome Pictures to continue with a fifth season.[2] The fourth and final season ended on June 26, 2008 in the United States.
Each episode of the series features a new song performed by Alexz Johnson. Usually, the song is about something that occurs in the episode. However, in some episodes, there is no direct explanation to the lyrics; sometimes it's just a song. Some episodes can feature more than one song, but there is only one song per episode that is to be featured on the soundtrack for that season. For instance, there are 13 episodes per season, which means there are 13 main songs. One of the songs, "Perfect," was written by Canadian synth pop artist Lights.
Just before the broadcast of the second season on The N, viewers had a chance to see Alexz Johnson in concert in a show called Instant Star: Backstage Pass, singing two of the songs from each season of the show and accompanied by her band from the show, Spiederman Mind Explosion.
In 2005, after its first season, Instant Star was nominated for three Gemini Awards in the category of Best Children's or Youth Fiction Program or Series. Nominations included: (1) Best Series; (2) Best Performance (Alexz Johnson); and (3) Best Direction (Graeme Campbell). The show won the award for Best Direction for the episode You Can't Always Get What You Want.[10]
In season 2 episode 9 of Instant Star, Aubrey Graham as himself is hosting an awards ceremony Jude is nominated for. He also invites Sadie to the set of Degrassi to flirt with her. Stacey Farber (Ellie Nash) also had a cameo with Aubrey.
The Fourth season of Instant Star, a Canadian Drama series boradcast by the CTV and the N. The final season began airing on June 2, 2008. Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn of Epitome Pictures produced the show. . CTV and The N both pulled funding following the fourth season, and the execs chose to end the show. The show was originally intended to conclude after its 5th season. Upset fans started a petition.[2] The 4th and final season of the show concluded on June 26, 2008, in the US. Reruns continue on CTV in a Saturday morning time slot.

I was inspired by these gardens that we grow in our backyard, chickens, raising these kids on this property, planting, growing and watching the evolution of the seasons. I really was inspired by just looking at my window, creating this record, pregnant with my son, the songs evolved from everything natural.
MeganPsychotic villainess MeganMegan (Kristin Fairlie) is a recurring character and villainess from the fourth and final season of Instant Star. She was the owner of a music store and a fan of rising pop singer Jude Harrison (the series protagonist).
Later on, though, things became tense between Jude and Megan when the former released her third album, which Megan instantly criticized as being terrible and not like Jude's past work. While initially dismissive of Megan's criticism, Jude later reconciled with her new-found friend and the two girls began to bond more deeply, with Megan acting as support for Jude as she struggled to get over her recent breakup from her boyfriend/manager, Tommy Quincy.
Fans were angered after watching the intense relationship blossom between the two of them for four seasons, only to have it come crumbling down in the finale. Johnson, though, has a different outlook on the way it all went down.
Instant Star was a Canadian Soap Opera and Teen Drama created by Linda Schuyler (the same woman who created Degrassi: The Next Generation). Lead character Jude Harrison, an amateur singer-songwriter musician, wins an American Idol-type competition and recording contract and is instantly thrust into the world of celebrity and fame. She has to overcome problems with both her personal and professional life, such as her parents' divorce and maintaining her career and pleasing her record label.
She finished second place in the Division 1 Stoughton sectional to earn a state berth. Thorson (25-4), the No. 7 seed at state, has lost all four matches to two of the top six seeded players at state. She lost a three-set match to Janesville Craig sophomore Lexie Hankel, the fifth seed at state, earlier this season. She has lost a pair of three-set matches to sixth-seeded Sun Prairie East senior Annalise Yang.
A new season may be added only after the completion of the previous season, and after the new season has been announced. Once you create a new season you'll have 4 hours to add the first episode, or the season may be automatically removed.
Instant Star Season 3 starts tonight at 9:30pm on CTV (it has already aired on The N in the states). What's Instant Star do you say? And where were Seasons 1 and 2? Who cares. Just watch Season 3. It's all that matters...
And if you can't get into our Instant Star Jude Harrison (winner of Instant Star, the show within the show much like the Idol series) and her flip flopping between hunky producer Tommy and her childhood pal Jamie, then watch it for the great look of the series. Plus Tyler Kyte (above right, with Alexz Johnson as Jude) stars in the show too and I loved him since his days as kid host on the Canadian-made Popular Mechanics For Kids (though his counterparts, Elisha Cuthbert (24), Jay Baruchel (Knocked Up, Undeclared, Million Dollar Baby), and Vanessa Lenghies (American Dreams) have all seem to have done slightly better over in Hollywood).
The series is made by the same folks who make Degrassi: The Next Generation, though it's much less controversial and far more soapy.
Tonight's premiere sees a nice big ol' cake fight between Jude and her new rival nemesis (and Instant Star 3 show-within-a-show winner) Karma.
And yes, I think she should be with Jamie (Kristopher Turner, above right with Tommy, Tim Rozon). (Jamie is the Noel to Jude's Felicity, which is weird since on Felicity, I thought she should be with Ben).
Oh, also trivia note, the house and pool they use for the Bar Mitvah scenes is apparently Prince's house (as in the artist formerly known as...) while he was in Toronto.
Robinson, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound true freshman and former 4-star prospect from Lakeland, Florida, is expected to be a contributor in a Gator wide receiving corps that could use his length to create opportunities downfield in a passing game that has been stagnant for the better part of a decade. With star Antonio Callaway suspended for the season opener, the stage was set for Robinson to become an instant star at Florida.
Each episode of the series, which first ran on Canadian television in 2004, features an original song that Johnson sings and sometimes even writes. The daughter of a karate instructor and a homemaker, Johnson has penned (or cowritten) five of the songs that are heard in the 13 episode season.
Rob Phillips:The Cowboys indeed rested or gave reduced snaps to the majority of their starters Sunday, and they entered the game with seven players, including three starting defensive linemen, already ruled out due to injury. I thought those depth issues would show up over the course of the day, but give the defense credit for holding Philly to a field goal until the final drive of the first half following a second Mark Sanchez interception. Overall, the Cowboys seemed to accomplish their balancing act during the week -- most starters got some work, the reserves pitched in (including Tony Romo with a touchdown pass), and they appeared to keep everyone healthy as they now look toward the playoffs.
Colorado's biggest names, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar, scored the key goals to regain home-ice advantage in this first-round Western Conference playoff series, winning 6-4, amid a raucous, towel-waving sellout home crowd revved up by a breathtaking second-period comeback by the Kraken. The two squads will square off back here at Climate Pledge Arena for Game 4 Monday night.
With this first-ever Kraken playoffs home game tied at 3-3 going into the final 20 minutes, the 2022 Stanley Cup champs and this season's Central Division winner showed why star power can be tough to beat some nights in the postseason. Fifty-goal regular-season scorer Rantanen notched the fourth Avalanche goal and his second of this series. Superstar Nathan MacKinnon (111 points this regular season) scored a minute-and-a-half later to make it 5-3 with his second goal of the night and third in three postseason games and what turned out to be Saturday's game-winning goal.
