So I am working on a drawing and noticed that what I call my "standard text" which I have been using Iskoola Pota for years is not working. I went to annotate and noticed that the text was coming in very plain "as in bland, boring, stick figure type text font". I never use bland, vanilla, autocad standard text fonts, so I went in to look at my standard text and next to the font that I use "Iskoola Pota" there is a yellow triangle as if it is not working or not available...very strange since I have been using this in my template for a long time....
One other bug that I am facing is, I got an error message saying that my ctb file is missing. Could this be related to that text font not working? also, obviously my drawings are not printing out the same. Everything I was controlling in my CTB file is no longer filtering what I had set up. Is the CTB file not stored in my template? Is it retrievable? Am I going to have to re-crate my CTB file? If so, is there a way to back it up so next time I upgrade to a higher cad year I do not run into this again?
Feeling a bit ass whipped right now, I tried creating a bs text font name, and those two text fonts are not even on the list anymore. Is it possible when I re downloaded acad that something did not go right? I do not remember if I initially downloaded from the autocad site last time or not, but I do know that I downloaded using a disk this time. If I downloaded from the autocad site last time, is it possible that they had text fonts on there that are not on the disc they sent me? Sorry just thinking out loud

Hey Jackson, no my computer did not die. It was actually, one day I clicked on the autocad Icon and got an error message about something wrong with licensing...Tried many methods suggested to me to re set the licensing, but did not work. I decided to upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 and just re upload civil3d which I have done. Now these two text fonts that I have been using for over a year are giving me error messages. So that when I open any drawing that I have done, they look completely different because I guess cad is assigning a standard text to replace what I was using.
I have researched knowledge network and can not find a way to recover those text fonts....BTW they are all TT fonts that came with cad. I tried to find a place on google to download those shp font files that are missing or not working. No luck. I found the directory in options that stores all of the shp files but they were not in there. If I could just find the darn things I could insert them again, but I can not find them nor do I know why they are missing just from re installing cad. Maybe a shp font is different than a tt font, I don't know. But now some of my text is plotting out darker and bolder than before.
Are you saying that ctb files are old school?? I only used one because I thought I could control lightness and darkness of text fonts and hatching. Apparently it was working because my text and hatching is coming in way darker. But, if there is an easier way to control this I am all for it.
I'm just so frustrated, just when you get comfortable and start pecking away, something goes wrong and the more you dig, the more you find out how over complicated this program is. I am gonna post some screen shots, and will post a drawing if necessary.
You are way more advanced than me, I thought your only option was to use the text fonts in the cad list? However I believe that most of the ones that I chose in the cad list were TT fonts. I would not know an option to using fonts that were not in the cad list.
