Grading tomorrow

24hrs to the Grading! Jitsukas! The time has finally arrived! You have all trained hard in the past months, it is now time to fight easy! Use this time to get into focus for tomorrow!

Just a few tips/reminders for the novices that might help you out:

- Visualise every technique in your mind.
- The grading will last at least a couple of hours, so focus on your breathing. You will need a lot of that tomorrow to delay your fatigue. Don't worry, you will have short breaks to recover as well - make the most out of them, but always keep focused.
- Whatever attack comes your way, just MOVE!
- Do not be afraid to show everyone that you deserve that belt. Push yourself and look like you are already yellow belts (+3 mons)!
- Remember to bow to the examination board and react to instructions instantly (run!). Do not linger on the mat.
- Eat and drink outside of the Dojo.
- It is not the end of the world if you make a mistake - just make sure that you recover from that mistake, don't just stare with a big question mark on your face. ;)

Personal appearance:

- Wash and iron your gi.
- Make sure you have the badge sewn on.
- Cut your nails! They will check!
- Have clean underwear! :P

Nutrition tips:

- Keep your self hydrated. Drink lots of water tonight but tomorrow just sip water when you have the opportunity. You do not want to excuse yourself for the loo whilst you're being graded!
- Tonight load up on carbohydrates (pasta, rice, etc)
- Tomorrow morning (8 am) have a good breakfast.
- Snack on some fruit and nuts at around 11am
- Take some quick glucose snacks with you to keep your energy stores up (jaffa cakes, banana, etc)

RANDORIS! RANDORIS! RANDORIS!

 

Hi, guys and gals! The National Randoris are just around the corner. 


For whoever is not familiar with the Randoris, it is a 2 day event with loads of throwing (ground work and standing) against a resisting opponent. Kinda like a judo fight.

 

There will be training, competitions (with also an open competition –where all the browns belts and dans are kicking up a storm ! Who would want to miss that?! )

 and a Saturday evening fun – first curry, then drinking...and then (hopefully) drunken jitsu.

 

When: 18 -19 Feb

Where: Walsall

How much : Course and Competition:£30 ; Course only:£15; Evening event : £6
