There's also a link from Tyria or Elona in The Arid Sea (Crystal
Desert -- Proph) or the Crystal Overlook (Desolation -- Elona) that
you can transverse between.

Can you provide more details? Logically there could be a way since
both lands are connected by land. However since by the time you got
to either of those areas, you would have passed by the port cities and
thus already obtained passage to other lands, it's not much use.

In order to be able to use this crossing you would already have had to
have played Prophecies and Nightfall. It is not a short-cut.

I'm more thinking that you must have reached both areas with your
character.
But those two points are fairly deep in the game, so you do have to
play a bit to take advantage of such a feature.
