So is there a way to remove deep freeze enterprise manually without the password or without installing a fresh Windows? I can make permanent changes to the Windows OS using Kali's file explorer and the registry with chntpw, if that helps.

The reason for this is because DeepFreeze installs device drivers for loading the "hard drive". It splits up the actual hard drive into a few partitions, and essentially makes Windows run from a VM, with a copy of the original "frozen" partition. When you make changes to it, DeepFreeze doesn't care, and just flushes the changes away by running a copy of the original image on the next reboot.

To force Deep Freeze into a Thawed state, you will need to download and replace two drivers in c:\windows\system32\drivers. These null drivers are available only to verified Faronics customers. These drivers will prevent Deep Freeze from entering a Frozen state and allow the software to be uninstalled from the computer using the workstation installer file. Instructions and null drivers are available from Faronics, again, only to verified customers. You will need the installer file to uninstall the program. The cost for a single license for Deep Freeze Standard workstation is approximately $46.99. I am pretty sure the null drivers will work on Deep Freeze Enterprise also, but you can doube-check with Faronics.

14289 Resolved an issue where the system became unbootable after installing Deep Freeze workstation on computers with NVMe drives using Advanced Format (4K) technology. (These types of drives are mostly used in modern Mac computers.) (Case No: VAS-893-64477)

until @JPLRepo can find a time to see to this error, can anyone help me getting rid of it with an unofficial build? I want to play interstellar and honestly, without deep freeze it's almost impossible to send kerbals to other stars in galaxies.

If there is no way to fix this for time being, can anyone help and recommend an alternative way? Personally was thinking about playing with civilian population hand in hand with deep freeze, but now, I don't know if I can use civilian population for years away from kerbol system!

Today I downloaded deep freeze from github, and I put everything inside the game data folder, so, lacking of a dependency is not an issue here, how ever, when I run the game, it complains about something went bad and about bad installation!

This mod causes a strange error when installing RasterPropMonitor Core. I checked all my mods and only this one caused a bug. The camera passes through the floor and stops moving, you can only zoom in/out. This happens with all cryocamers, with the exception of the CRY-2300. Even if Kerbal leaves the ship, he will still be inside the ship and outside at the same time. The screenshot shows this. If you switch to the ship through the tracking station, everything will return to how it was, kerbal will return to the ship, and the camera will break again. Is this how it should be, or is it a bug? Here is the link there are screenshots and logs: =drive_link

honestly I didn't try playing to see if parts and mechanics are ok or not, as soon as I install the mod, when I start the game, on the main menu there is a warning modal box saying that something seriously wrong about deep freeze installation happened and tells me to close the game and reinstall the mod properly!

Also, I tried installing with ckan and when I got the error, I tried removing it by ckan and then installing manually from git hub, didn't work, again when people talked about rpm, I tried using ckan, same issue exists

Not sure what's going on. I did, however, encounter some issues with some recent updates to RPM, I had to not use the last two versions and use the 0.31.13.0 version, the two newer ones were causing the game to crash when going to the launchpad with only a capsule and a small freezer section.

Best thing I can suggest right now is to create a totally clean install, and just install DeepFreeze with CKAN, no additional mods and see if it works. If it does, then add a few mods at a time and see what happens.

Edit: I have a local copy I've built and is working fine for me, this includes some fixes which are in the repo but not released; not relevant to this issue since I can't reproduce your problem with the released version. However, if you'd like, I can make a version with some extra debugging, which _might_ help track this down. But I'd like you to do what I asked first, since I have a feeling there is another mod causing issues.

As stated, Deepfreeze console doesn't show the workstations column on my laptop. To clarify, on my desktop workstation all systems appear, but on my laptop the actual column for workstation names isn't viable. I and show status, ip, MAC, version, etc, but the actual workstation column doesn't show up.

Please reactivate the Cloud version of this, we have Deep Freeze Cloud on PCs at multiple locations, and have had issues with the computers freezing, some multiple times a day. The one location where I installed the update before it was pulled back has had no issues since the update was installed. The other locations where the update wasn't installed, continue to have freezing issues.

Yes, this has been plaguing us since August. They issued their 8.63 patch which said it would fix it, but it didn't. I've got a ticket open with them, I've sent them multiple memory dumps and I keep getting a response thanking me for my patience and that the devs hasn't figured it out yet.

Same problem here! Just recently updated a training room with new hardware and updated versions of everything including Deep Freeze. To my horror computers were randomly freezing throughout the class. Thankfully I found some references online to point to Deep Freeze as the culprit. Reached out to support who confirmed the issue. They told me it's been going on for a year and they still don't have a fix although they are close. They sent me a test deepfrz.sys file which blew up the machine I tried it on. Does anyone know if simply thawing these workstations will prevent the random hangs or does the application need to be removed? And don't say reimaged... ugh.

Improved Local Wakeup - Deep Freeze now ensures the local wake uptimers are enabled when the 'Attempt to wake up locally' option is selectedfor Workstation Tasks.
LAPS Compatibility - Deep Freeze is now compatible with Microsoft LocalAdministrator Password Solution. Automatic password changes areprevented to avoid synchronization issues with the Domain Controller whenthe computer is in a Frozen state.

I've also been trying to manage this DF issue for the past year, just when I'd almost given up hope of a solution in 2022, they emailed me an install link for 8.65, I've rolled it out a couple of days now, and haven't experienced any more freezes in the environment. (30+ Dell PCs on Win10)

Kastgroup Online Benchmark used to be a surefire way I found to make the pcs lock up, tried a couple of times with devices on 8.65 and no lockups yet https:/ Opens a new window/benchmark.kastgroup.com

Now if you were to run sudo vgs followed by sudo lvs you should be able to see that the amount of free space left in the volume group "ubuntu-vg" (VFree under vgs output) is equal to the amount of space taken by the logical volume "root" (LSize under lvs output). In my case, I have 506.44g free in ubuntu-vg and my root partition is 506.44g large. If the free space left in the volume group is equal to the the size of the partition I want to freeze, I should be able to wipe out the entire partition and still be able to recover with a reboot. Leave the rest of the free space in ubuntu-vg unused for now. We'll be using it later.

Once you have the system configured exactly the way you want it, create the following script (you'll need root privileges) and save as /root/steadystate.sh with your favorite editor. Note that if you changed the volume group name when setting up LVM, you'll need to update that in the script below as well.

If you wanted to be able to make changes, you could (re)mount the snapshot with rw privileges and then chroot to it and make any changes that you want to remain permanent. This isn't flawless, but it's a proof of concept.
