Really stoked about the Los Angeles seminar in September!! Training with Al, John and the NYC nucleus is like going from bottled water to drinking from the wellspring itself; we're talking about the best hand to hand/close quarters combat guys in the world, which for a layman like myself is a privilege almost indescribable. No joke. I've trained under world-renowed Aikido Shihans, champion karate Grandmasters and gold medal kickboxers, professional Muay Thai fighters--run the gambit, essentially--and nothing has stuck with me, and resonated, like Guided Chaos.

The first few months of training this back in '13 I was non-committal and flaky, and then after moving to the East Coast I entertained the thought of training with the Philly group, but grew distracted and waited 11 months before attending a seminar, which occurred one month before I was to move back to the West Coast.

The experience with John and Al was so powerful that I became filled with regret that I'd wasted 11 months--idle months in which I could have made enormous advances in my body intelligence, kinetics, balance, combative skills and perhaps most importantly, harnessed the psychology of a victorious combatant (John is a foremost expert in the psychology of violence and his 'focus your fear' and other psychological drills are hugely impactful and transferable to other aspects of life) and it was that realization that galvanized me to take this seriously and honor it as the privilege that it really is.

I can definitely relate to Michael's post. I can recall how amazed I was after attending the Daly City (San Francisco) GC seminar back in 2011 or so. That event completely TRANSFORMED my entire perspective on what constituted a practical martial arts system. It also made me really regret having missed the LA and the Salem, OR GC seminars.

Folks...these seminars are not offered that often. Get off the couch! Check one out. I am pretty certain you'll be as impressed as I was.

I have been to two Ghosting seminars so far and will be attending my third one in LA next month!

BTW, I was a GC skeptic for almost a decade prior to getting "hands-on" training from a GC instructor...this system has to be FELT to be appreciated...not viewed and judged by a youtube clip, Attackproof book, etc.

It's great to hear the enthusiasm from everyone for the upcoming L.A. Seminar - yay! Here in New York, we are gearing up to go out there and have a blast. Teaching and training with old friends as well as new practitioners is a thrill for us all – too much fun!

One of the things I love about going to these seminars is seeing GC students improve so quickly. Watching people processing the enormous amount of information being given to them, working with it, and having their “aha moments”, etc. is great. You can actually see a difference in how the people are thinking and moving from one day to the next, it's pretty awesome.

Yes, it's definitely true that you have to feel GC first-hand, no two ways about it. No matter how good the videos and books are, there is just no substitute for experiencing it for yourself. Even a little bit of training time from the masters will, as Colonel Al would say, “get your mind right” about where you are and what you need to do.

Anyway, we are really looking forward to seeing everyone out there next month. I've been wanting to go to CA for years, and this will be my first time. I'm thinking about taking a surfing lesson or two, and putting my GC balance skills to the test :)

Hey Tina! Dunno if you were planning on coming to the Cincinnati Seminar the week after, but there are at least 3 women who are signed up for it. They might appreciate your take on self-defense and how to use the principles without relying on size and massive muscle mass...

Hi Evan! So glad to hear from you, we miss seeing you! I would have loved to go to Cincinnati; unfortunately, we will still be in California doing some traveling along the coast.

Am definitely bummed I won't be able to make it and help the women kick some butt! Btw we are working on a program specifically for women, so maybe we can arrange something out there in the near future. Perhaps Mrs.Yeung would find it interesting? ;)

Hope all is well with you and hope to see you in Elmsford soon!

-Tina
