The winter 2016 edition of the Guide to Evagrius Ponticus is now available.
This edition constitutes a major update to the bibliography and corpus pages and the way they are populated. The data for the corpus is now housed primarily in a TAN-rdf file (part of a new format of XML files; see
http://textalign.net/) and partly in the Zotero database, which is the primary source for the bibliography. Exhibit, the javascript library that undergirded the corpus and bibliography, has been replaced by Tablesorter, written by Christian Bach and updated by Rob Garrison (
https://github.com/Mottie/tablesorter). Between the data and the javascript library rests several custom-written XSLT files that transform the TAN-rdf and Zotero.rdf into the html tables that populate the now-static website.
The advantage to this approach is that all editions of the Guide are now archivable by
archive.org. The two pages slightly smaller and more responsive, generally. They are cleaner and more book-like.
Along with the data overhaul has come a revision of the CSS, which is now designed to be adequate for both small and large screens.
Other revisions include the following:
Bibliography: 1 item added, 31 additional items updated.
