As Oscar Wilde said, the only worse thing than being talked about is not being talked about. And here we are talking about guess who.

As Derek disapproves of this list so heartily, and some of us members as well, I can only guess that he's still here as a form of sport, getting on people's nerves. He's gossiping on another list, which is a pretty juvenile approach to what he sees as the problems, but I suspect his medication is wearing off.

This Kate could reflect, while she's in hospital with her ingrowing toenail or whatever she's got, that the history of queens called Kate is not a particularly happy one. A few of them made the mistake of bonking Henry the VIII (help, the thought of that great slob!). And it was the worse for them.
Still, she may never get there, with Charles gotta be queen first, if they'll let him, and Wullyum having to survive being such a brave soldier and all.

No wonder we've got such a sense of farce in this country!

Oh the sighted impaired. I think it is amazing that some of these people are
aloud out by themselves.
I'm sure I told you all this before. I was in a train station waiting for my
train which is always on track 13. This woman asked me if I needed help. No
mam I said I was just waiting for my train. Well how will you know when your
train arrives. Well Dah, there announcing everything over the loud speakers.
So I told her my dog is watching the monitor. Oh I heard my train being
called. Of cause on track 13. Good boy I said the train is on track
thirteen. Oh my God how did the dog tell you that this woman said. He hit me
thirteen times with his tail.
Yesterday I was crossing this four lane highway. there were these two guys,
I put them in there twenties by the sound of there voice.
This one guy said to me I got the light. Well the cars were still zipping
past me. hahaha real funny wasn't that. I was going to say something but
held my tongue.
When it was time to cross, I turned and said, now you can go.

!! Once when I was working in London, I was waiting for the bus in Oxford
Street to take me back to Victoria station so I could get the train home. I
heard 2 stupid women talking "... I wonder how she knows which bus to get
on", "perhaps the dog barks the number", ... I was waiting for a number 500,
lol!!!! I mean, why didn't they just ask me?

Having said that though, I was crossing a horrible junction last week on my
way to the hospital. It is traffic lights controlled, but there is no
audible signal or cone to hold and no sequence in particular that a blind
person can pick out, so one is really reliant on someone telling them when
the light is green and it is safe to cross. Sometimes I just go when a lot
of other people do, although this can be foolish, as some idiots cross when
it is not safe, but if I do this, I am certain in my mind that all traffic
has stopped before I set out across the road as it is 4 lanes, but there is
no island in the middle, you have to cross it in one go. So I was say 3
quarters of the way across, having made the decision that it was safe to
cross myself, when this woman came up on Nyle's left shoulder, right close
to him, which he hates, as it causes him to slow right down. In fact,
somehow she pushed him off course, as instead of him landing me on the
tactile marking on the pavement opposite, we found a kerb, so her being on
his left, must have forced us right. Anyway, she came right up on his
shoulder, causing him to slow right down, and then asked "how does your dog
know when the lights are green?", to which I replied "he doesn't", so she
said "oh ... so you just ..." and at this point, he stalled about 2 steps
from the upkerb, because she was in his way, so I am afraid I lost patience
and not rudely but assertively, I just said to her "please don't stop me in
the middle of the road". I mean honestly, what is the sense in that, on a
road like that? I was furious, but all she could say was "oh sorry" and
walked off. I would have explained everything to her if she had approached
me in the appropriate manner. Now she went off bemused because she still
doesn't know, but honestly, the lights were about to change, and I was in
the middle of that road once in the dark when that happened and I tell you
it was terrifying, as there are as I say, no islands.

I met no end of fools that day last week. I think they must have all been
let out on a midweek break!

I thought the episode with Harry was side splittingly funny!!  I’m not a royalist really, but in a way I admire the Queen, because she didn’t ask to be Queen and it must be a royal pain in the butt most of the time, having to go to all these boring functions and having everyone prying into your business morning noon and night.  And when she is gone, I think I will feel quite sad, as we have grown up with her, she’s just always been there throughout our lifetime.  Having said that, I wouldn’t mind if the younger ones had to get their arses into gear, but I suppose Will and Harry kind of do and I don’t dislike them per se.  It’s more the principle of the royal family with which I don’t really agree than the people personally, and I also realise that they do bring a lot of tourism into the land.  In other words, I am not really that bothered either way. 

 

As for Kate:  I haven’t a royal clue!!  I am sure it will be broadcast the world wide, when there are any developments!

You can be certain sure of that!!

Jim, we're much more humane here, and would not dream of putting you out of your misery unless you had distemper or something.

Republican isn't a party over here, although maybe it should be. It's more a state of mind, a very intelligent and elevated one, in my humble opinion.

Actually, there are, about ten major parties here that have made some sort of impact, and there will always be some off-the-wall ones appearing at election time as well, e.g., Save the House-Sparrowor Wakefield Gasworks Preservationists. There are Greens and several nationalist parties as well as the regular Labour and Conservative - I like your alternative of Common - they be very surprised at that!

Thank you very much for giving me an explanation of your party system in the UK.

We of course largely have a two party system which diminishes the platforms on which we have to vote so a broader base has been suggested for years, yet any attempts to broaden the spectrum of ideologies fails every

What tickles me is the way the Americans claim to have a very civil manner of debating and negociating while we find your Parlimentary system out of hand and quite uncivil.

My thinkings too, Jim. He is beyond my understanding too. I'll tell you
something, Mel is the only other person I've ever told, but Derek came to
stay with me around 30 years ago, and at about the age of 28 or so, had
never had sex!! Well, OK, maybe some men are late like that, but he'd been
on holiday to visit a penfriend in Poland, and he told me she was sex crazy
but: "I couldnt find where to put it" he said!! And he asked would I show
him how it was done!! Fucking hell, the cheek of it and urgh!! I just said

Mel and I wonder if he's learnt how to do it since!! He's let slip on

idea if its a him, her or it!! He's a tiny little man, well about five foot
6 or 7, and used to be skinny with it. I like my men tall, so didnt find him
the least bit attractive!! Sick or what? No one uses me like that.

Anyway, I hope you are OK as been worried about you all day. And so has Mel
as I showed her your email that you gave me permission to show her. She said
the same as me its best of ignore him but as you are findinfg out its not
as easy as that, and we know it. Mel has told me to tell you that you will

Wren for a free run this morning which she thoroughly enjoyed, she didnt

One thing in my mind is settled.

We have a network of deafblind citizens here in the mountain communities where I live and I have been the one and only person to establish a network of TTY communications for the people of this area.
So I actually know quite a bit about this issue.
You see? I have been the President of the Talking Book Center in this area for the past ten years and know the availabilities of various services which are available to the blind and deafblind quite well.
But thank you for your bit of information.

Everyone is making me sad. I love this list so much as many of you guys do.

A person is regarded as deafblind if their combined sight and hearing
impairment cause difficulties with communication, access to information,
and mobility. This includes people with a progressive sight and
hearing loss.
Often health and social healthcare professionals use the term
dual-sensory impairment as well as deafblindness. This is more often
associated with adults who have acquired sight and hearing loss.

Multi-sensory impairment is generally associated with children who
are born with a sight and hearing loss and a range of other disabilities
that affect their ability to process information and communicate.
