EVs produce zero direct emissions, meaning broader adoption could result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and improved urban air quality. Further advances in autonomous driving could also enhance roadway safety.3
The Global X Autonomous & Electric Vehicles ETF (DRIV) seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive Autonomous & Electric Vehicles Index.
Performance is shown on a total return basis (i.e., with gross income reinvested, where applicable). Cumulative return is the aggregate amount that an investment has gained or lost over time. Annualized return is the average return gained or lost by an investment each year over a given time period.

The primary explanation is that timing discrepancies can arise between the NAV and the trading price of the Fund. Since shares of the Fund trade on the open market, prices are affected by the constant flow of information received by investors, corporations and financial institutions. Depending on how this changing information affects investor sentiment, shares of the Fund may deviate slightly from the value of the Fund's underlying assets. The NAV of the Fund is only calculated once a day (normally at 4:00 p.m. eastern time). As a result, shareholders may pay more than NAV when they buy Fund shares and receive less than NAV when they sell those shares, because shares are purchased and sold at current market prices. However, due to the creation and redemption process that is unique to ETFs, market makers are able to minimize these deviations from NAV by taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities.
Close of Trading Times. Although both the NAV and the daily market price of the Fund are generally calculated based on prices at the closing time of the exchange (generally 4:00 p.m. eastern time), slight differences in this timing may cause discrepancies.
Time of Last Trade. Trading of Global X funds generally takes place during normal trading hours (9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. eastern time). However, it is important to note that the last trade - from which the closing price is determined - may not occur at exactly 4:00 p.m. eastern time. Therefore, changing market sentiment during the time difference may cause the NAV to deviate from the closing price.
International Holdings. The premiums and discounts for funds with significant holdings in international markets may be less accurate due to the different closing times of various international markets. Because the Funds trade during U.S. market hours while the underlying securities may not, the time lapse between the markets can result in differences between the NAV and the trading price.
Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. The investable universe of companies in which DRIV may invest may be limited. The companies in which the Fund invests may be subject to rapid changes in technology, intense competition, rapid obsolescence of products and services, loss of intellectual property protections, evolving industry standards and frequent new product productions, and changes in business cycles and government regulation. There are additional risks associated with investing in mining industries.
International investments may involve risk of capital loss from unfavorable fluctuation in currency values, from differences in generally accepted accounting principles or from social, economic or political instability in other nations. Emerging markets involve heightened risks related to the same factors as well as increased volatility and lower trading volume.

I know I said in my post last week that these weekly reflections would be in a shorter format rather than a long-form article. Well, surprise! I chose this week to share about the details of how I researched and found the DRiV, a behavioral assessment tool that my company Leadership Worth Following created. This is relevant to share because in my role as a leadership consultant, I frequently use the DRiV to facilitate 1:1 coaching/feedback sessions, conduct team building workshops, and help with organizational development. In fact, just yesterday I finished up a two-day workshop certifying a HR team at a logistics company to use the DRiV in their selection, assessment, and development processes!
Too often I feel like a salesman when I talk about the DRiV. Candidly, that is a part of my role when it comes to finding and working with clients, but that's not how I got here. I hope this article can show you how I found the DRiV and why I absolutely love using it as an incredible developmental resource.
Let's start with some background for those who are unfamiliar with my story. I spent over a decade as an army officer leading organizations across the globe. I was selected to return to my alma mater, the United States Military Academy, to develop the next generation of military leaders. Part of my training was to earn a graduate degree in Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. All of those things were crucial to my personal and professional development. More importantly, however, was being handed the gift of time in graduate school to reflect on my leadership journey. My graduate program, coupled with some amazing professors and mentors, helped me answer two fundamental questions: Who am I? and How do I Lead? At that point, I had been a military leader for eight years, but I had never truly thought about how or why I was leading.
Going through this reflective journey catapulted my development and allowed me to be incredibly effective in helping to coach and develop leaders. My last assignment at West Point was teaching leadership in the classroom, facilitating student growth and helping them answer the questions I had recently answered: Who am I? and How will I Lead? I left that job and began my transition from soldier to civilian. As I looked at myself and who I wanted to become, I realized I was walking into an unfamiliar world. I had skills, sure, and a wealth of experience, but what did I really want? Who was I in this new context? Then someone told me: "How will you know what you want if you don't know who you are?"
That sent me in the direction to find my purpose. I'll spare you the gory details (feel free to check out my 28-article transition series to see how this was developed every week), but through the COMMIT foundation's Pursue Your Purpose and Nick Craig's book Leading from Purpose, I defined who I am. This self-awareness gave me the insight to know I wanted something that allows me to feel connected with a higher calling. It was about this time that I started exploring executive coaching and assessment certifications. I researched various assessments I had taken in the past (MBTI, Hogan, DiSC, VIA, etc) and eventually came across a new tool: the DRiV. I was intrigued by the company who built it (Leadership Worth Following), and I took the assessment through Otto Kroeger Associates. My first thought as I read through my results came from a coaching lens: holy s***, this is development gold. I can leverage this to dive deep into what makes people tick.
This was because my report results spoke deeply to one of my core values: growth. Of the assessments I have taken (and I've taken quite a few!), none have triggered as much thought and developmental conversation as the DRiV. Most assessments helped me confirm what I already felt or knew about myself, but the DRiV forced me to think deeply about how and why things drive or drain me, and how I might be showing up to my teammates. It gave me ways to see how I was showing up "At My Best" and "At My Worst," as well as questions to think about and tips moving forward.
I actually dealt with this as I prepared for the two-day workshop I just finished up facilitating. To prepare for the session, I had to retool some material and build out a 154 slide PowerPoint deck, coupled with a 120 page workbook. I had to slow down and engage not only my Deliberation driver, but a couple of other lower-scoring ones: Persistence and Excellence. 70% and figure it out wasn't acceptable because they needed to be exceptional and nearly flawless documents. I found myself lacking the focus and energy needed to complete these tasks, and frankly it was a slog.
