Responsibility on Capitol Hill End the Corruption!    August 5, 2010 Dear Ronald, The ethics violations leveled against Rep. Charles Rangel and Rep. Maxine Waters illustrate how horribly corrupt our Congress has become.  The indignant Rep. Rangel insists he has done nothing wrong (a travesty) and intends to defend himself before the Congressional Ethics Committee.   The transgressions of the Congressman against the peoples' trust offer us an opportunity to convey the "Citizens Expectations of Congress".  We strongly encourage you to write, e-mail, and call your Senators and Congressmen to: 1).  Insist these ethics proceedings be carried to their fruition devoid of any "good ole boy" deal making. 2).  Conduct their business of law making with integrity and for the good of the people. 3).  Know that we are watching them like never before in the history of the United States of America!   One of the fundamental principles of "Responsibilty on Capitol Hill" is to END THE CORRUPTION in all areas of government.  The time is now to make our voices heard.    Contact your Congressman and forward this email to all your e-mail associates.  Let them know we are coming for them!   Find below a sample letter to use to when contacting your representatives.  You can Cut & Paste or print out the letter.   Go to our website rockthehill.org  to view 3 links for finding out Congressional addresses.  You will find a sample letter listed there as well.   Thanks for the help,   Doug Wilson August 5, 2010   Dear Congressman,                                    The ethics charges leveled against Rep. Charles Rangel are an outright disgrace to him and to Congress.  The pervasive entitlement attitude necessary for Rep. Rangel to violate the public trust to this degree is despicable and prototypical of the out of control "Congressional Corruption" that is destroying our government and our country.  We, the American people, are furious with the entitled and self serving nature of our elected representatives in Congress and we want it to end. We demand that the Congressional Ethics Committee pursue these transgressions in the most punitive fashion available and that Mr. Rangel be tried on tax evasion and extortion charges subsequent to the Ethics hearings.  His failure to recognize and disclose corporate payments for trips to the Caribbean which prompted his removal as the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee is not listed as one of these current complaints being considered by the committee.  We are witnessing a pattern of deceit in Rep. Rangel. Unfortunately, the culture of deceit is insidious in the Congress.   When Rep. Duke Cunningham was convicted for bribery in to 2005 the country was horrified.  When Rep. William Jefferson was convicted last year we were left shaking our heads in disbelief.  When Sen. Roland Burris was identified as a participant in the Blagojevich pay to play scheme that inappropriately awarded him President Obama's senate seat, our disgust for Congress was absolute.  Who knows what Rep. Maxine Waters has contributed to the moral decay of our country? We will not be satisfied until there is a new standard of personal ethics achieved in Congress by all members.  We, the American people, are fed up and don't want you or any member of Congress to have special considerations or privileges of any kind.  None!!!  Perhaps you are not a part of this entitled and deceitful Congressional cancer.  If you are not, we applaud you.  Regardless, we implore you to pressure Congress to turn its' wrath on Rep. Rangel.  Only then will we begin to heal this festering egocentricism that defines Washington D. C.
