Network Layout

I am interested in joining communities that layout nodes and edges using special purpose algorithms.  The nodes may have multiple shapes in 2D or 3D.  The edges will not be more sophisticated than a line.  The space between nodes and edges could be several textures.  Please forward any suggestions that you may have as to which communities would be helpful to me in designing the layout.
