Greetings,

I am trying to follow the steps to compile an applet as per the
instruction in the manual. (http://guess.wikispot.org/
Compiling_Your_Code)

However, I keep getting this error:

jythonc -j foo.jar -a -c -p guess --deep scripts\dockexaple2applet.py
SyntaxError: (invalid syntax, (<string>, 1, 12, jythonc -j foo.jar -a -
c -p guess --deep scripts\dockexaple2applet.py))

I checked the older posts but could not find any relevant help.
Can anyone give some insight on what I am missing?

Thanks
Shivashis

it's hard for me to figure out what's wrong from this. You need to
give us more information about your environment and what you did.

Hi,

I am using GUESS in windows environment.
I did modify the guess.bat file to point to the right location of GUESS. I do not have any other versions of Jython installed.

I typed the following command in the interpreter window of guess:

jythonc -j foo.jar -a -c -p guess --deep scripts\dockexample2applet.py

Then I got the following error:
SyntaxError: (invalid syntax, (<string>, 1, 12, jythonc -j foo.jar -a -c -p guess --deep scripts\dockexample2applet.py))

Please let me know what more information you need.

Thanks,
Shivashis

oh! the command is for compiling on the _windows_ command line! not
in GUESS...

just make sure you have your environment variables set correctly (you
can modify/run setvarbs.bat as a starting point).
