Howdy Groovers!
As the warmer weather slowly creeps in, your Groove organizers are dreaming of ways to bring people together again for the rhythmic journey.
We have hatched a plan!
We will be hosting an outdoor dance here in Guelph, not far from downtown in the Heart of the Junction Village on May 14th 7:30-9pm (dance for more than an hour again?! Amazing!).
We have secured an outdoor covered space suitable for dance rain or shine and we can accommodate 17 people (more if there’s no rain). We have 17 tickets on sale now for $12 that you can buy here:https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/may-groove-outside-and-covid-safe-tickets-323566414857
When you buy a ticket, please email us here with your comfort level with being near other dancers: would you like your own dance space squared off? Or are you wanting to move about wherever the winds takes you? We will have both options available.
Tickets will be on sale until end of the day May 12th and if the weather looks 100% clear for the evening, we will likely open up a few more spaces, so if you miss a ticket, there will be a waiting list.
Considering many folks haven’t been in person with us for a while we invite you or to come early to catch up around a wee fire pit before the dance (7pm).
COVID precautions: the space is outside, under a large tent that will be open on one to three sides, depending on rain. There will be areas squared off to dance in, so you don’t have to interact with other people, and a space where interacting more freely is available. Again, please let us know what you prefer so we can set this up beforehand.
We invite people to dance with or without masks, whatever you are comfortable with and we ask unvaccinated dancers to stay home so we, as organizers, don’t have to feel responsible for your health (we do this for free and fun and that’s just too big of a responsibility).
Please stay home if you have symptoms, and all the better if you can test before you come.
We will send the address out to you on the day of.
Hope to see folks on the 14th of May!
Your dedicated Groove organizers
