Dear Dancers,

The next Guelph Groove is less than a week away! This Saturday June 1st, will be the last dance of the season before taking time off for the summer. After this week's dance, Guelph Groove will resume again in October...

As usual, the dance is at 42 Quebec Street on the 3rd floor. Doors at 7:15pm, dance at 7:30pm. Our DJ this month is the wonderful Melanie! Instead of a closing circle this month, we will finish the dance with a brief sound bath offered by Mike, of the Sacred Basement (check him out here if you are interested: thesacredbasement.com).

Although doors remain open until 7:45pm to allow for late comers, there is a capacity limit in the space. Once the space is at capacity, no more participants will be permitted entry. We have a limit on people in the space to prevent overcrowding, support airflow, and ensure enough space for all to move safely/ freely. Thank you for understanding!

VERY IMPORTANT ***Please do not come out dancing if you have cold or flu symptoms, or are in any way feeling unwell***

In an effort to make the environment as safe and sanitary as possible, masks and hand sanitizer are provided at the door. Wearing a mask is not mandatory, but encouraged if this is comfortable for you. We also do our best to attend to air flow throughout the space during the dance, and are limiting the amount of dancers in the space to ensure it is not overcrowded.

Here are some reminders about what to expect at the Groove:

- Doors open at 7:15pm and dance begins at 7:30pm. Doors will close at 7:45pm sharp. As there is a limit to dancers in the space, come early to ensure entry. In the time before the opening circle, you can stretch, dance, meditate or chat with fellow dancers. Prepare yourself for the dance journey in whatever way is needed!

- No shoes or partners necessary, open to all bodies and abilities

- Inspired by the 5Rhythms. will flow from fast to slow to support our dance journey

- Will dance without talking from approx 7:30 to 9pm, with brief opening and closing circles

- Street parking is available in the downtown area, but fills up quickly on a Saturday, so give yourself enough time to find a parking spot nearby

- Dress in comfortable clothes that you can move in, and bring a water bottle (sinks in the washroom are small, making it difficult to refill bottles)

- We have a locked coat room for coats, bags and footwear

- The space is accessible, but arrangements must be made in advance to meet at the elevator - please email theguel...@gmail.com for this

- Is a scent free space so please no perfumes/ colognes/ strong deodorants

- Cost is $15 or PWYC. Cash at the door, or by e-transfer to theguel...@gmail.com

The Guelph Groove strives to offer a safe and nonjudgmental space to explore spontaneous, free-form, mindful movement with playful curiosity. It’s a great opportunity to explore self-awareness and self-expression through the healing power of dance. Come and move to the music as you are inspired to... breathe, bend, bounce, shake, wiggle and flow!
