to Guelph Groove
Hello again Groovers!

Another quick but very important note if you are planning to attend the Groove this coming weekend: it’s is going to be a very festive begin to our time together as the Guelph Santa Claus Parade is going to be happening right outside the studio!  Downtown Guelph is so beautiful and cheery on this eve, with the parade starting at 530, in past has meant that the Jolly Elf himself was passing the studio right about when we are starting our dance! So please be aware that downtown there will be road closures so please make travel arrangements accordingly and try to arrive early to navigate the crowds.
Here is a link to the event website where you can find the parade route:
Unfortunately the City does not make info about road closures very easy to find, expect that if driving you will have to park on a side street west of Norfolk, south of Wellington, east of Arthur (no recommendations for North as that is where the parade is coming from).

We hope to dance with many of you that night so wanted to be sure you are equipped for the Celebrations downtown!

Also, on a different note, from Groove facilitator Melanie:

You are invited to save your space for the 5Rhythms Wave Dance Workshop - Attune. 5Rhythms teacher Layah Jane will be returning to Guelph for a 2-day workshop this winter!

Tiered tuition available, with only 5 early bird tickets remaining (available until Dec 24) could be a great Holiday present for a loved one!
Here’s more info:

Attune

In these troubled times of disconnect and division, this is a call to come together.
This is a call to tend the fires of connection through creative practice.

Let’s move, breathe, and behold the mess and bless of this life.

Let’s listen to body, heart, and the space between us.

Let’s notice and name, experience and express, the whispers and roars in our blood and bones.

Here, with the 5Rhythms movement practice as our map - -
with moment-to-moment heart-full attention,
and an ethic of rigorous receptivity, and commitment to care,
we will move with the habits we hold,
honour the armour gilded from relational rupture
and make sacred space for the dance to emerge, that leads us towards repair.

Together, we will practice listening and responding to our inner impulses for motion and creativity. Together we will practice the art of attunement.

5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement meditation practice - a workout for body and soul, and a map for awakening and embodying our creative capacity to meet what life brings. There are no steps to follow in this improvisational movement methodology. Instead, we show up, tune in and move what is alive in us.

All are welcome here: all bodies, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, abilities & disabilities, and movement experience.
