I will soon be purchasing some hearing aids from Specsavers, Australia. I am finding it very difficult to find any information on the different levels available. Standard, Plus, Premium, Super and Elite.

Thanks for that. I am Specsavers because Costco does not qualify for me to get the HSP contribution. It is $1500 in my case which is a big chunk off the price so even their top of the range becomes affordable.

The Advance range is generally made by the big name brands with some premium features turned off. In my experience Specsavers will be happy to outline the differences during a consultation. Bring a notepad to jot down notes in case they are reluctant to give you a printout of said differences.

Hi Tenkan, there are others in my area but they are all expensive for what they sell. I have tried to research them and at this stage Specsavers, with all its faults, seems to be the best. Particularly if the top two levels are chosen.

HSA only deal with Signia aids, unless you have a CI or a child. If you have any sort of pension card you should/might be eligible for the voucher service the Government has running. This only allows for the very basic level of aid though.

Hi,
Costco do not supply their aids through HSP as they do not release their software for other clinics to use, which in Australia is a stipulation for the clinic to have access to the hearing services subsidies.

The bluetooth television devices which connect to advance are a rebranded signia streamline TV device for the advance range made by Sivantos (Signias parent company) and a rebranded phonak TV connector made by Sonova (phonak / unitrons parent company).

At present there is a global shortage of the Sonova TV connectors so even if you did want to order one you would not be able to and sonova cannot give us an answer on when they will be available. The bluetooth transmitter from JayCar may work with the Advance made by Sonova as this brand uses a bluetooth classic protocol, although sometimes there is latency with these devices - I also had a patient connect their hearing aids directly to the TVs bluetooth with no intermediate device, although am guessing this would vary across different TVs too.

Generally I tell people to see how they go with the hearing aids alone first, and if TV is still an issue to come in ang get a TV transmitter - They do work very well and will provide the best transmission of sound, but who knows - you might find that the hearing aids work well enough on their own!

Also - last thing to consider is that the advance made by Signia will only stream audio from an iPhone / IOS device (made for iphone technology) where as the advance made by sonova will stream audio from both android and iphone - Although if you have an iphone personally I prefer the made for iphone technology.

Sorry to hear that they avoided your query. In my case the Advance version of the Linx Quattro was missing an Impact Noise feature and I also wanted to program the hearing aids myself so I went with the official Resound model which they sold at the time.

But the TV connector gives you an amazing stereo experience but it might be disconcerting. Noises off screen can be really well off your screen. Also consider dialogue between two characters. The one on screen is in front of you and the other off screen. Then the camera shifts to off screen character whose audio now comes from your front. This audio shift seems odd.
I enjoy TV much better with the connector.

When I am connected to a Bluetooth device, songs Skip before they are over. I have cleared the cache and data. Updated the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This is making my commute to work super frustrating!

When I connect to the bluetooth "car multimedia" in my truck a song will play 1-1.5 minutes and then stop. When I open the app, it will then play the next song for 1-1.5 minutes. It just keeps going like that.

I have cleared all the cache, checked the batter. Cleared data, Uninstalled and done everything else I can and the songs still continue to skip with Bluetooth in my car. I just had a system update on my android. Could this be causing problems?

Pandora was installed in a Samsung S8 and it worked great for many years. To provide my wife with her choice of music, I upgraded to Premium Family. This is when the skipping started. My dealer felt the issue is one of the bluetooth chipset in the Jeep. Others disagree.

I upgraded to a Samsung S21 and skipping continues in our Jeep. Very annoying. I have tried using a Motorola Bluetooth receiver and it skips too. Jeep dealer assures me the Cherokee's system has the latest flash and all that. Pandora also skips when played on my 2021 Harley Davidson CVO with BOOMII head unit and 2 400 watt amplifiers. Really frustrating.

I have followed all previous thread solutions including reloading all phone software, installing Pandora, clearing APP cache and data, restarting phone, logging back into Pandora, trying phone again and the music still skips. While performing last iteration and then testing in Jeep, I am on property in my garage and wi-fi and cellular data both provide strong signals. Switching between cellular and wi-fi does not make any difference is sound quality.

Interestingly enough, another user mentioned that his Buds disconnected after 4 minutes. mine just disconnected after 3:50 seconds. ARGH! I reconnected and this time with 95% charge, they disconnected after 1:35 seconds.

My Galaxy Buds are not skipping songs but they will not stay connected to the app. While typing I am using my Buds and this is the 3rd time they have disconnected. Disappointing as they do not disconnect in Amazon Music.

Please fix these issues or I will have to use another change music source providers. We have 12 Sonos channels in our house. I prefer Pandora over Amazon Music but am unwilling to pay 2 subscriptions for something this simple. Please fix your issues.

I am new to zoom, but from going on Reddit and using Google see this has been a issue back to 2022. with people having the same issue with multiple diff headhones. Sometimes they can get it to connect, sometimes never.

My headphones work fine with everything else on the phone. They also connect fine when using the Zoom app on my laptop. On the laptop it asks me if I want to test my Mic and Audio, then gives me the option to choose my audio device. It does NOT give me the option when I join or initiate a meeting using the Android app.

On the Android app, All the settings in Zoom show that they are connected. The Bluetooth Icon in the zoom app in the left corner shows next to the speaker icon and in the settings it says that the headphones are connected, but the sound still only comes out of the speaker. I even hit the volume button and try to select the headphones instead of the speaker, but it always goes back to the speaker when I close it out. I clicked the 3 dots on the right and it shows the headphones are selected and connected.

I am having the same issue. My Bluetooth headphones work fine for literally every other Android app besides Zoom. I think this issue came about for me one day by starting to take a call on my headphones, then the call transferring to my car Bluetooth when traveling somewhere, then never transferring back to my headphones when I turned off my car and re-paired my headphones to my phone.

I have tried everything to get Zoom to use my headphones again. I have reinstalled the app, I have made android switch my default audio call device back in forth between the device (phone iteself) and the headphones, I have played with every Zoom audio setting (there are not many, only 3), and I have tried pairing and unpairing my headphones during a Zoom call. Nothing works. Zoom is simply refusing to use my headphones.

Zoom, please make a way to test audio configurations on your phone app, select audio output device, or truly use the Android audio call device (because its not right now). I have an Android 13 pixel 6, so this should not be an OS or HW issue. All signs are pointing to an app issue.

After playing around with more setting, I added the "nearby devices" permission to Zoom and it seems to fix the issue. I was unaware that the "nearby devices" permission referred to Bluetooth devices.

Same issue with Android 13 on Samsung Flip 5 - 'nearby devices' permission is set in app (no ability to set 'Music and audio' permission for app). All other apps (phone, just find bluetooth device for audio playback.

Would be really handy if app could have test speaker / mic like desktop version. I can't keep try joining different meetings with 'suggested workarounds' only having to apologise and leave meeting due to not having audio - it looks unprofessional. Would much rather join meeting early to test out audio so I have a chance to find different device for meeting if needed.

What phone are you using? The reason I ask is, there are various versions of Bluetooth and it may not be compatible. Sometimes deleting the bluetooth profile on the phone, and re-pair it might help. Once I know what phone you have, I might have a better solution for you.

Most phones share antennas for Bluetooth and wifi. This can cause issues with Bluetooth streaming while using wifi. A simple test is to turn off wifi and see if the streaming clears up. My m12 Bluetooth speaker does this sometimes with my iPhone 6. Turning off wifi always corrects it. It didn't do it on iOS 8 but since I installed iOS 9 beta it glitches out.

Bluetooth is just the radio protocol, different phones and devices have different profiles, and different audio codecs. It's possible yours is not selecting the best profile or codec to use. Which phone are you using?

Turning off wifi would suck than I could not efficiently stream music as I would always have to be on cellular. Again the phone an htc one m8 bluetooth's fine with the car and my daughter 's Pill(even on wifi).
