FATXplorer v2.0 is getting to a point where rigorous testing is needed to ensure a quality release. So I gave a few people an alpha build yesterday to test some things. One of them, however, currently does not own a license. So I figured I could just give him an extension code to extend his already-expired trial.

I haven't tried setting up an entire drive. I have hundred of games, coinops massive on the drive I'm using. I Don't want to sit ftping all that across again. It is single default dashboards being installed.
One last thing for now, you can set up C & E only which will no touch your F&G partion in any way, maybe you check out that option. When you read through topic you can see that option has saved some ppl.
So that makes me wonder why you have these problems. Everthing you posted about your config reads fine. And because your HDD is IDE and not SATA we can it's not the fault of an adapter or because of an missing 80 wire cable.
One thing, you wrote you use the UX bios which will copy shortcuts for UnleashX. And the error above is when the installer tries to replace shortcuts to make (for example) EvoX default. So installer ask "Do you like to make it your default dash" and you can hit no and the install will quit without a massage (thats fine). But you would still need a working shortcut for your bios on C:\. But, thats very simple because I have included all shortcuts as XBE file as well (better save than sry right?).
So if you browse the DVD (Live apps - 1.1. Launch X-Box File Explorer UX) you can go to D:\misc\shortcuts\. There you see a lot of folders. Open the folder of the dash you like to make your default dashboard. Now you see a file called " evoxdash.xbe ". When you copy this file to the root of your C / E drive that dashboard is your default dash on boot (since you used the c:\evoxdash bios) and it works also for all other dashboards which can simply be changed by replacing that one shortcut (xbe).
I set the HDD to setup C and E all worked wonderfully and the Dash's now work, Thanks for looking into it. I love the install disk, once I got over my initial problems and setup the C and E everything works like it says on the box?! I'm now happier with my Xbox then I have been for years. Now on to my jtag/rgh 360!
Glad all is working for you know. For your 360 you should download the J-Runner with Extras v3.0.3 from Octal450 with the latest timings and tweaks. And if you need any help I'm pretty sure he will help you (tag him on reddit if need).
I've used this disc to fressh install a 500gb hdd, used the option install single default dashboard xbmc4gamers. I've downloader hdd ready collection, put oin games folder inside f:/games and also g:/games. Xbmc4gamers wont list. "invalid path" error mesage. I could not find how to change path, or wich folder is the right one.
Then you can either flash a bios wich points strait to X4G or you flash an cec/cee bios which boots C:\evoxdash.xbe or E:\evoxdash.xbe. After that use the switch dashboard option to copy the shortcuts.
I have downloaded the installer filled burnt the ISO image but it won't boot. I added the files to my hard drive and ran it from there I get error 13. I have a 1.1 with a new Alladin clone running Evo m8 bios and a Phillips DVD drive and a stock hd I will upgrade the hd later. Have I missed a step do I need to download something else? The same happens on my 1.6 softmodded box
AND a little heads up, the installer sadly didn't work on XEMU anymore which isn't my fault. It worked up to XEMU v0.6.0. All later versions stuck at the XBox loading screen. Hope that get fixed in later versions of XEMU since the I have added a massive support for it in the upcomming v2.0 of OGXBox. Would be a sad thing if this will not get fixed. So if you like to set up a HDD for XEMU using this installer get hands on a older version (provided in my PC apps pack for example). After that you can use the HDD in newer versions of XEMU.
Is there a version of this disc that will boot up and show a display on the MakeMhz HD+ mod? My HDD is toast and I need to make a new one but I get no output on the screen from any installer disc with the HD+ installed.
But you could also set up a new HDD for your XBox on your PC using FatXplorer 3.0 which is maybe the better option. With FatXplorer you can hock up your XBox HDD to your PC and copy files like you normaly do in windows. And FatXplorer also provide a format option for your XBOx HDD.
I was wondering something in regards to err16 fix. I read that if you desolder/remove the clock capacitor, you can risk running into an err16, not sure in which circumstances. Is that the case if you have a TSOP flash?
I also read that most BIOS releases newer than 2004 have a err16 fix but it was unclear to me if this is the case for the BIOS files on this installer. For example I would assume the ind-BIOS with the XISO patches should include such a patch but it is never mentioned anywhere. The chart people link to only lists three xecutor bios versions as having the err16 which to me contradicts the "anything after 2004" mantra ://www.xbox-scene.com/bios_retail.html .
I realize this might be a bit offtopic here but since sweetdarkdestiny is presumably familiar with custom bios patches, I was just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about if I remove the capacitor.
New user here, everything worked really well (almost) for me using this DVD installer and guides here, thank you it's an amazing bit of work. The only thing I had an issue with is once I swapped the HDD, after that the DVD got stuck on boot showing a white screen. I had to use the Sayer DVD to format the Hard Drive, then I could boot up with the OBXbox installer disk and carry on. I'm not sure what happened but my workaround worked, I installed a 3TB hard drive and used a IND BIOS if that helps?
I would like to know if there is a PDF or Wiki that explains all the stuff that the ISO has, as I want to install several hard drives for each Xbox I have. For example, one Xbox has a 80GB driver, another Xbox has a 250GB, and I prefer a minimal install on the small drive, and a full featured installation on the other with the 250GB hd.
Hello everyone - I'm happy to report I just successfully installed an OpenXenium modchip to my Xbox 1.0, I've tested it, and it boots to the OpenXenium menu. I also dropped in a 1tb sata drive. My question is, what's the best next step from here in terms of bios / dashboard? I've created the OGXBox Installer 2021 DVD. Can I do everything I need with just that DVD? If so, how do I boot it from the openxenium menu?
Sadly this did not work. Does it matter what port I have the USB plugged into? I tried loading the disc at a couple different times, at the xenium menu, and then as EvoxM8 was starting. It resulted in the attached error.
You got me thinking with the Sata2Ide connector, so I hooked up the old harddrive and was able to boot into the retail kernal. Next I tried flashing the 2 bios again, and successfully added them as launch items. What was weird, is both led ultimately to the retail kernal.
The Ind bios will probably show a black screen with loading IND-BIOS then white splash screen with green text and the Evox bios is probably a different colour splash screen with a logo on the top left of the screen.
To further add to the mystery, my 2nd SATA2IDE (identical to the first), yields a totally different result. OpenXenium starts, but there are no options in the menu. Pressing eject goes blank and then shows an Initializing IDE screen which never ended. I also noticed the SATA2IDE adapter got crazy hot after disconecting it.
Check the kernel and dashboard version displayed at the end of the stock dashboard's Settings > System Info scroller before it repeats. Note the values shown on the K and D lines. What are they for each of the different Launch items you have added to the Xenium OS's menu.
Other than that, both appear as the stock dashboard. I should mention too, i just added the clean files that SS Dave provided to my drive via fatxplorer, using format with LBA-increasing bios with partition table.
If you put the clean C and E files in the respective drives the Xbox will boot to a stock dash, I tried to boot to the OGXbox installer and when using EvoxM8 and the Ind bios files on a Open Xenium chip from a cold boot I got a error saying is a movie or audio CD and to remove it but when I used the X2-5035.67 bios it was happy to boot the install disk.
