Listen: how does logging work

I have written a short program to processes files arriving in an upload directory.  This program will run detached as a daemon and I want to send logs to syslog. 

I normally use the standard Ruby logger module for this but I see that listen has a logger class of its own but I can't see how to use it or how it relates to the ruby module.

I have realised this is a non issue as I  use the Logging module not Logger so there is no potential for confict.
