After opening the app the whole machine becomes slow not just the app and usually ends up with the app closing itself at which point the machine speed is fine again. I've checked task manager and system resources are fine nothing maxing out.

If you log in to the same game account in Soda, Candy Crush and Friends to save your progress in them, then your game ID is the same in all 3 King games. The procedure to retrieve the ID is the same in all King games.
I have been doing more testing and turns out that once I have opened and closed Soda at least once on the machine the other 2 Candy Crush apps have the same problem if I open those after. If I don't open Soda (after a fresh boot) the other apps work fine. I have only been able to get the other apps to work normally again by restarting the machine. Signing out and back in to the windows profile isn't enough.
Same problem here. Windows updated yesterday and no more candy crush soda saga for me. I can load the game as soon as I use one of the many, many icons the game stops working. If I start a level the game crashes right after 1st move. It doesn't even finish the move it just stops.
Ok, so my laptop got soda spilled on it chrismas and i dried it out. It will turn on but the battery will not turn on wilth out a charger but that is not the problem. The problem is that now when I turn on the laptop it goes to a screen that states the battery is bad and wants me to press f2 but i have tested everything and the laptop said it is ok yet the hard drive does not have a OS on it anymore so I am guessing the hard drive got wiped somehow. I try now to put a new OS on it with a USB but it wont do it and I know the USB ports on the laptop still works because i have to us a keyboard now as well. I am going to try to burn a OS on a disc but i do not know if it will work.
Thanks Iomare i found out how to put a linux on a flash drive to put on the laptop the keyboard is fried but everything else is good so i am going to but windows 10 on it to dual boot them together and thanks agian.
