Only one entry per person will be accepted, and individuals with more than one entry will be disqualified. Late entries will not be accepted. Selections will be made in May 2024 and will be announced by the Department of State at dvprogram.state.gov/ESC.

2. Check your DV application status. In early May, entrants may check their DV application status and see if they were selected using the Entry Status Check at dvprogram.state.gov/ESC. Entrants must have their confirmation number to access information through Entry Status Check. This is the ONLY website where Diversity Visa entrants are notified of their selection, provided instructions on how to proceed with their application, and notified of their immigrant visa interview appointment date and time. Please be aware, the U.S. Department of State is unable to provide results to DV entrants or provide your confirmation number.

Starting May 6, 2023, you will be able to check the status of your entry by returning to dvprogram.state.gov, clicking on Entrant Status Check, and entering your unique confirmation number and personal information. You must use Entrant Status Check to check if you have been selected for DV-2024 and, if selected, to view instructions on how to proceed with your application.

You may check the status of your entry through the Entrant Status Check on the E-DV website at dvprogram.state.gov using your unique confirmation number and personal information. It is the only way to check whether your entry was selected. If your entry is selected, you will be directed to a confirmation page that will provide further instructions, including information on fees connected with immigration to the United States. If you are selected, we encourage you to complete the DS-260 visa applications soon. The Embassy will be processing DV-2023 cases until September 30, 2023.

After applicants submit a complete entry, they will see a confirmation screen containing their name and a unique confirmation number. Applicants should print this confirmation screen for their records. They will need this confirmation page and unique confirmation number to access the online system that will inform them of the status of their entry. Applicants will be selected at random by computer from among all qualified entries. Beginning May 4, 2024, applicants will be able to check the status of their entry by returning to www.dvprogram.state.gov, clicking on Entrant Status Check, and entering their unique confirmation number and personal information. Applicants must use Entrant Status Check to check if they have been selected for the DV-2025 lottery and, if selected, to check their immigrant visa interview appointment date. The U.S. government will not inform applicants directly, nor will any notification letters be sent out to registrants.

The annual diversity visa lottery registration period opens once again on October 4th until November 7th for those who are eligible to apply for a green card to reside permanently in the United States. Only entries submitted during this period will be accepted and considered for selection in the lottery. Applications will only be accepted online via the U.S. Department of State official website at dvprogram.state.gov.

All applicants also must have a high school diploma or the equivalent, defined in the United States as the successful completion of a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education or they must have two years of work experience within the last five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform. Entries for the DV-2025 diversity visa lottery must be submitted electronically from noon EDT on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 through noon EST on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. All entries by an applicant will be disqualified if more than one entry for the applicant is received, regardless of who submitted the entry. Applicants may prepare and submit their own entries, or have someone submit the entry for them.
