one of my remote contact computers dissapeared from my contact list and groups. When I try to add it again I get the error "this computer or contact is already in your list". Yet I cannot see it, I have tried searching in the computers and contacts with no luck finding it. Any idea on how to add/resurect my contact.

I meant if you only indicated the alias in the device search box or you also tried the ID.

However, you can try checking the existence of the device, including those available to you, through the use of TeamViewer's management console. Go to www.teamviewer.com -> login and log in.

Among the devices you should be able to see what you are looking for, if available, and see which group it is associated with.

yes I did - and to make it even stranger if I enter the remote computer id in the partner id i don't have to enter the password to connect - so it appears that the device exists someplace, I just cannot see it.

Can someone answer this question? Restoring to factory defaults is not acceptable. I have several systems on my home network and I am not setting everything back up just so I can remove one or two old computers from the list.

To get a particular computer to stop showing up on the list of available computers on the printer, you need to uninstall the HP software for that printer from the computer you'd like to no longer be visible. Once the software is remove the printer no longer has the means to communicate with the computer.

You can remove the HP software by following this Uninstalling the Printer Software document, and if you're using Windows, you can also use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to uninstall the printer once you've gone through either Fix Printing or Fix Scanning and get to the below end screen.

Thanks that worked for me! I power cycled it through the browser interface and then disabled and re-enabled scan to computer on my current PC to get the printer to pick it up again and the rest are gone!

I apologize in advance PowerShell Noob here. I am trying to get a list of all computer objects that have contacted our DC over the past year. That part is easy, however do to the lack of naming schema we are unable to differentiate between servers and desktops. I would like to add the OS version to this report. Is the OS version of a stale object stored in AD? Would I need to poll the machines via PS remoting to pull this information?

I created a script for an audit we had that lists all computers with their macOS version, all apps installed, and app versions. You could pull the information from it or use it as a launching point if you want.

@Bernard.Huang It's a bash script that uses some specific bash functionality that doesn't work in the regular Bourne shell, so you don't want to override that. Drop the sh from your command. Instead, make sure the script is executable - chmod +x /path/to/JamfMacInventory.sh and then run it like /path/to/JamfMacInventory.sh.
Also, it probably doesn't need the sudo since there's nothing I can see in his script that would require running as root.

Bernard.Huang, Is it possible to search for a specific application like any Adobe app with that script instead of pulling all of the Applications since the users have a ton of their own apps installed?

I use Sublime Text, went to Tools, Build. Put the csv file on the desktop.
Script worked pretty slick. There should be an easier way in JAMF to do this, however. It would be nice to be able to just pull a report for all applications/usage.

@dlondon Interesting. Haven't used this script for a bit, my assumption is Jamf changed the order of displayed data when pulling info for a specific Computer ID but who knows when or why it stopped working. Easiest fix is just remove sed 's/,/.*,/,/g', the new output should just include more data like App path and bundle_id.

I actually had a go at this ... possibly some problems are caused because some of our machines have names like george's imac instead of the proper name. Here's what I came up with as a first go based off your line:

I came up with some variations on the ad-hoc theme that others may find useful. In the original ad-hoc wizard, the computer name needed to match exactly. Since we use a lot of naming conventions, it is useful put in a portion of a naming convention, then have it identify machines that match. Enjoy AdHocGroupWizardContainingComputer.ojo.

Is there any way to create a smartlist of the information in a Computers Checks Edit List before the checks are run? Also is there a way or a report that will include the Document Number of the invoice instead of the or in addition to the voucher number of an invoice that is marked to be paid?

I personally hate the Check Edit List that prints out-of-the-box, I just don't understand why one check has to take half a page...so I have made my own 'replacement' Crystal report for it. My report uses the PM10201, PM10300 and PM20000 tables. Depending on the fields you want to see, if using Multicurrency, you'd need to add the MC20103 table.

I believe you're going to find that the check selection process stores records in a Temp table that you won't be able to query on. If the checks are printed but not posted, then they would appear in the PM10300 table.

After a batch is built for computer checks, a Computer Checks Edit List is run to then match up the invoices being paid from this edit list to the actual copies of the invoices. The actual copies do not have the voucher number which makes it difficult to do quickly. That is why the document number is needed on the report because the document number is written on the actual copies of the invoices we are matching to the edit.

Thanks for the reply. I will give the smartlist builder a try. As for the link about adding the document number, I currently to not have access to customersource. I am working on getting a logon setup. Is there any way you could reply with the information in the knowledgebase article?

My customer is looking for a way to import a list of servers from a text file into a Manual Computer Group. I read somewhere that there was a wizard create for this but I cannot find it. It was not attached.

I would just take a blank action on the list that you paste into the targets, then select them all after the action is running, then right click and add them to a manual group. I am unfamiliar with the wizard. Also, I think you will be shunned upon for using a manual group , but I have used some in the past for very particular reasons as well.

Hello everyone, I hope you are well.

I want to tell you that I have the following problem when I want to download the wincc application to my server (OS Server) or to my OS Server Stby.

First of all I want to tell you that the compilation of my project is without problem, the connectivity and configuration in NET Pro is fine, the remote path to where the .MCP project should be saved is fine, but when I want to download to the server I get an error that says:

"The project Could not be opened, this computer is in the client list project. Please Open the project on the server first "

What does this mean? which computer is on the client list? Currently my server is as a server in the wincc project (see attached image)

The strange thing is that when I explore the folders where the .MCP project should be saved, the information is there and I can even open the projects from each server, which means that the transfer was carried out successfully.

Could you help me by telling me what I may be missing?

I have attached an image so you can see the error

The Twitter reaction was a bit shocking in volume and it's hard to discuss things there. So I've made this thread in case the conversation continues! Note: we've had a semi-related thread already: First line of every R script?.

What about objects that take a long time to create? Isolate that bit in its own script and write the precious object to file with saveRDS(my_precious, here("results", "my_precious.rds")). Now you can develop scripts to do downstream work that reload the precious object via my_precious

In my personal experience, not getting into the habit of saving intermediate steps to a file was the biggest impediment to completely internalizing the idea that "source is real" ((c) @jennybryan?). It makes you very dependent on your workspace, as a section of code that takes even two minutes to run seems highly wasteful to re-run when you are in the middle of an analysis. And then, inevitably, you make an irreversible change while to an object that takes some time to generate while testing syntax, and so you try to include the steps that the produced the change in your source file, but you won't run it because that would mean wasting multiple minutes of your life.
