II. Elections in Sudan
Sudan's first multi-party elections in 24 years are currently taking place. The elections will prove a decisive event in the country's contemporary history. They will also prove a decisive event in the status and legitimacy of Omar al-Bashir's National Congress Party. For the latest information on the Sudanese elections, visit the
Sudan Tribune. For opportunities for action--to ensure that the United States government does not legitimize an illegitimately "elected" regime--see
here and
here.
III. DarfurFeast: Dessert Edition, 4/20, 8 pm, Location TBA
Join Georgetown STAND for our annual celebration of Sudanese culture, with a speaker from a prominent Sudan advocacy organization. Desserts will be served from our local and favorite Georgetown locations. We look forward to seeing you there!
All the best,
