Dear Daniel,

Just saw the flyers about Burma VJ and Nyi Nyi Aung - great that its happening!  I actually wanted to let you and STAND know about another Burma documentary that is going to be screened next week through the Asian Studies Department - it is a preview screening.  One of the producers (Brice Richard) will actually be coming to your screening tomorrow so hopefully you can meet him then!

I've included the information about the screening next week below ~ it'd be great if you could send this out on the list serve at some point this week and mention it at the screening!  Have also attached a flyer.

For the Documentary
Title: Rangoon Cocoon: A Story of Burmese Butterflies
Credits: Anne Murat & Brice Richard © 2009
Date: Monday, May 3
Time: 7:30pm ~ 8:45pm
Room: ICC 101
Description: Burma is a land of creation, innovation, inspiration. A cocoon where a thousand metamorphoses take place and a thousand butterflies take flight - Rock stars and intellectuals, journalists and bar owners, high tech monks and transsexuals, contemporary artists and daredevil entrepreneurs. Through 66 interviews and portraits of social, intellectual, religious and artistic pioneers, filmmaker Anne Murat and photographer Brice Richard bring forth the image of a country not chained to the past, but soaring towards the future. Photographer Brice Richard will be present for discussion and Q&A  after the screening.
