A former employee of Indigo, a popular Indian restaurant, is staging a demonstration this Wednesday, October 7, starting at 12:30pm to demand that the owner, Dinesh Tandon, pay her the wages that she is owed.
Reyna worked for Indigo for nearly a year, and was consistently paid under the minimum wage and not paid overtime. Dinesh Tandon owes her over $7,000 in back wages and partial liquidated damages.
"I wanted him to pay me my wages right when I left the job, because I needed them," says Reyna. "Sometimes I can't even sleep because I'm thinking about why this man does not want to pay me my wages. But I have to do something because it is not right for him to not pay me."
Can you stand with Reyna on the picket line to demand her unpaid wages?

Despite the passage of the Minimum Wage Amendment Act of 2013 and the Wage Theft Prevention Act of 2014, too many District employers continue to flagrantly violate the law and pay their workers subpoverty wages.
