As the
floods begin to recede in Brisbane, they left behind a number of people
homeless, at least for a few days. When they do return to their homes
eventually, it is one with all their possessions destroyed from the
flood water.
Some of the brothers and sisters - many who are
just university students - have lost all their possessions due to the
flood. They are presently staying elsewhere until the houses are clear
of water and then to try to rebuild their homes and lives. Their are
quite a number of these brothers and sisters who have lost their homes
with water up to the roof or at least half way up inside their houses.
We ask you to help in two ways:
There are a number of ways that we can help as a community:
- Volunteering to help out in cleaning and rebuilding.
Volunteers are essential in the clean-up and rebuilding effort. Allah
has placed a great reward in helping those who have been afflicted with
hardship. Let us take this opportunity to follow the way of the Prophet
(S) and help alleviate the suffering of the flood victims. Register

- Donations. These brothers and sisters have lost their furniture, books and other valuables in the flood. Please donate some money to help them to return to a normal life.
