Configure doesn't find mono.cairo (good post, please excuse my previous post)

Please, excuse me for my previous post.
I am running Fedora 9 x86_64.
I have Package mono-core-1.9.1-2.fc9.x86_64 already installed and
latest version. As I understand this includes the Mono.Cairo
libraries.
I don't know if I need another package or if I need to manually point
configure to the location of mono-core using an environment
variable... As I said, I am not very versed in Linux.
Any help would be appreciated.
