Call for Action
Prepare to depute before the Executive Committee on October 20
October 20th is the last chance to advocate for a bold poverty reduction strategy at the executive committee meeting. Poverty reduction will be early in the agenda and public deputations are expected to take place in the morning. It is a great civic engagement opportunity for both new and experienced leaders in the city. We will send you the registration info a week prior to the meeting. We encourage residents, community volunteers, board members, business owners, faith leaders and many others to speak out that day for a final push.
Meeting with your councillor
We encourage people to set up a meeting with their councillors to let them know they want them to vote for a robust poverty reduction strategy. By meeting one-on-one with your councillor you can push for a bold strategy with measurements and timelines. Let us know whether you need help. Contact Kevin at kevin...@outlook.com for further inquiry.
On-line Petition
Please sign the petition and share this on-line petition link with your networks and residents in your professional/social circles.
You can also download the hard-copy from our website. Please return completed petitions by October 30th to Israt Ahmed by mail at 2 Carlton, suite 1001, Toronto, M5B 1J3 or by fax 416 351 0107.

A website created by Commitment 2 Community (C2C) partners that acts as a hub for information on the city's Poverty Reduction Strategy. It showcases the hard work of community organizers and resident leaders, and highlights local initiatives. It shares information from C2C but also from others in the community who are engaged, involved and concerned about the growing inequity and poverty in the city. This website arose out of a concern that there was no online hub to coordinate and highlight the community voices at work on the Poverty Reduction Strategy.
Tell us what you are doing in your communities and we will share this information at www.povertyreductionTO.ca
