Lots of my videos stall during playback.
The videos are played from a samba share. Both my Vizio Co-Star and samba server have 100MB wired ethernet connection.
Watched a movie yesterday which stalled about every minute. sometimes it recovered after a second but sometimes I had to use skipping or even stop and start the player to recover which made it pretty unwatchable.
Tried it with and without subtitles but didn't make any difference.
To rule out the server I tested the video with Vizio's playpoint and it played just fine.
Also was able to test a friends WD live media player (using samba) and worked fine.

Did you try local playback with vimu?

I've copied 1GB of the movie to the Vizio's internal storage but get the same issue.
Noticed this movie has quite a high bitrate:
  Duration: 02:06:50.27, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 2176 kb/s
Total size is almost 13GB.

Another 1080p full HD movie which plays fine has a much lower bitrate:
  Duration: 02:07:22.68, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 384 kb/s
Total size of this movie is almost 5GB.
Checked another higher bitrate movie and get issue again:
  Duration: 02:49:37.12, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 2816 kb/s
Almost 15GB file size.

Try to disable Mkv Extended support in settings.

When I disable Mkv extended support the issue gets much worse, it stalls then every few seconds.

Have you been able to reproduce the problem?

Normally, I sometimes have problems with very-high bitrate files. But these files are more then 20Gb large.

Try to play files locally with disabled MKV Extended and enabled Do not use proxy for local content. It is the most "native" way for GTV.

I also experience stalling sometimes with small files but that's only a few times.

The settings doesn't have any effect, with high bitrate files it keeps stalling.

Are you using a Vizio Co-Star too?

When I use Plex client or Serenity on the same file (both running in direct play) it doesn't give problems so I guess it has to do something with ViMu.
Most files are unwatchable because of the stalling.
