Hello Everybody,

It seems, based on the chatter on other mailing lists, blogs and
twitter posts, that quite a few GTUG members from all over the world
are coming to the conference. Some discussion and informal planning
has been already happening on the gtug-managers list, but it would be
a good idea to involve other GTUGians and share ideas how we can show
our presence at the Google I/O 2010 conference.

Please post on this list how many members and from which GTUG group
are expected to attend the conference and what type of ideas/
suggestions you have for Google I/O. These could be as simple as an
informal get together proposed by one of the members of the Mass GTUG,
which I am quoting below or something more organized and formal.

We could also use this forum (in separate threads) for sharing travel
tips, hotel locations, sources of inexpensive airfares etc for those
who are no familiar with Bay Area and San Francisco in particular.

So let's start a discussion and please keep in mind that there is no
one officially in charge of organizing our activities at Google I/O.
We are a user group so anybody and everybody is in charge. Our success
depends entirely on us.

OK, enough of the pep talk. Here is information about Mass GTUG.
So far we have 5 people planning to attend and one of the members
suggested the following:
"It might be fun to arrange some kind of informal get together, or
meeting place, the evening before or the morning of the first day just
so we know who each other are. (Could even meet in a corner of the
hall while drinking google coffee and eating google bfst snacks.)
Might be useful to share agendas, and potentially cover overlaps, or
at least know who to ask later if you couldn't attend a session, but
they did. "

Happy Planning!

Monika

Thanks for posting this Monika!

Last year there was a sort of GTUG corner. That worked well. As long as we have some kind of banner with a big GTUG on it, that should be enough to get us together, right?
