Start building apps for the Indian Google Assistant

Hello Developers,

Greetings!

Starting today, developers and companies can build apps to engage with Indian users through Actions on Google, the developer platform for the Google Assistant. Soon, apps you build will be available for users to use straight from the Google Assistant.

Be sure to check out resources such as developer tools, documentation and the simulator, all of which are available on the Actions on Google developer website, making it easy to create, test and deploy apps.

To support your efforts in building great apps for the Google Assistant, we’ve recently created the Google Assistant Developer Community Program. Eligible developers can benefit from a range of perks starting with a $200 monthly Google Cloud credit and an Assistant t-shirt when you publish your first app. Perks and opportunities available to you will grow as you hit milestone after milestone.

If you’ve already built an app for the Google Assistant in any English language, then your app will automatically work on all devices with the language set to en-IN, with no additional work needed from you. Make sure to consult the relevant documentations if you want to customize your TTS voice or target specific countries.
