Good am.  This is Joy Cary.  I met some of you at Sat. luncheons several yrs. ago, when I was studying Span. there for many summers.  I have always loved GTO and dreamed of spending about 6 mos. per yr. there, sometime in the future.  I know many of you have lived there for years on a permanent basis.  My question is probably the most common..."What about ins.?" I will be on Medicare May 1st.  I understand that Medicare does not cover you.  What options would be available for 6 mos. out of the year?  I hope you all are staying safe.  It's supposed to get really bad here these next few weeks.  Doing the most possible to protect myself.

pretty easy if you have the income, to become a temporary resident and therefore a member of the

socialized medical system. As far as i know there is no residency requirement but you have to renew

the resident permit annually.

As you may know the pharmacy chains have medical doctors for consultation at their retail

outlets--about 3 dollars per visit. I rely on these doctors for good advice. --doyle phillips

to apply for Temp Residency you get more benefit if you own a home but renters are

not a problem. You have to make an appointment and apply at a Mx Consulate in the

U.S.  --D
