Dear All,

I am sure many teams have fully charged their batteries in the two years since the last Global Trajectory Optimisation Competition (GTOC) and are eager and ready to engage in the next GTOC, GTOC X.  After resolving most schedule uncertainties for this 10th edition of GTOC, we would like to hold GTOC X along this imminent timeline:

Early April - registration period opens
Late April/Early May - competition begins
4-week competition duration
Winner announced at competition close
Workshop - special session at an astrodynamics conference (TBD)

Details for registration and more precise dates will be sent out in the next two to three weeks.

We will do our best to challenge you in a fun and illuminating way, and hope to have you all participate :)

Best regards,

-anastassios petropoulos

Dear All,

Thank you for your attention to the 10th China's Trajectory Optimization Competition (CTOC10). Some teams out of China have already registered by Email.

Because the the registration deadline and bonus were not mentioned in the last Email, we want to add two additional remarks.

1. The registration deadline is Mar 20, 2019, 12:00 (GMT+8). Only the teams registered by Email before this deadline can be ranked. After that time, you may also participant in this competition and submit your result to be evaluated, but won't be ranked.

2. Top 3 ranked teams will get bonuses, 10,000 RMB for the champion, 6,000 RMB for second place and 4,000 RMB for third place.

Sincerely,

Shuang Li, Hongwei Yang
Nanjing University of Aeronuatics and Astronautics

Dear All,

A brief update on the GTOCX schedule, while not definitive, at least it is a bit more precise than before:  We expect to have registration open in mid April (around the 10th), and the competition starting in mid May (around the 13th).   I hope to have definitive dates in the coming days or week.

Best regards,

Dear GTOC Community,

Registration for GTOC X will open shortly, and the competition is expected to run along this schedule:

  • 18 April, morning (USA Pacific Time) – Registration opens at the website https://gtocx.jpl.nasa.gov/
  • 12 May – Registration closes
  • 15 May – GTOC X problem is posted on the website https://gtocx.jpl.nasa.gov/
  • Solutions are to be submitted to the same website for automated verification and ranking, which will be posted to a leaderboard on the website
  • 12 June – Solution submission period closes, winner announced
  • 11-15 August 2019 – GTOC X Workshop - a number of teams from the competition's leaderboard will be invited to present papers at the GTOC X Special Session of the  AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference in Portland, Maine, USA.

The papers presented at the GTOC X Special Session will be part of the conference proceedings.  Even though the abstract submission deadline has passed for the conference, special arrangements have been made with the conference organizers for the GTOC X papers to be selected after the close of the competition.  Up to about 8 papers can be given at the special session.  Teams that do present, will have to submit their papers by the normal conference paper deadline of 2 August.  Teams are encouraged to make travel plans to attend the Workshop and conference, even if they do not end up presenting their work.

Looking forward to your participation!

Best regards,

-anastassios petropoulos
